FOr shame Turbine!
Go steal LotRO's costume, costume banking coding. Also, bring some the hairstyles too. They stole some of DDO's, so it's fair.
Add costume banking. Sell it for TP. Trust me, we would buy it.
Finally, add dye reciepes to the crafting system. sSome simple to make, others, like the always valuable black, more complicated with rarer materials. You could sell the dyes on the DDO store, too.
This system is AWESOME...and one of the fun things about LotRO.
On a Related note, you could do this for the airships. have comsetic hooks on the ships for things that can be crafted or bought or found or even won. THe idea of having trophies from various raids hanging in your guild ship (EX: Velah's Scale, displayed by XYZ player is an ultra rare drop from the Velah's raid) IS COOL!!
DO IT !! It wouldn't be that much dev time, since you can get alot of the coding from LotRO.... Why would we neeed sparkly graphics heavy stuff when we can dress whatever way we could?

Since Turbine owns both LOTRO and DDO I'm not sure there was a whole lot of stealing going on :p.
Your ideas might add a little flavor to an already stellar game, and I'm not sure I could handle the sensory overload. :D

I want to swap armor kits so I don't always look the same.
Wouldn't mind a closet for a wardrobe.
I'd buy more kits if I could keep the kit I just took off.
Since I can't keep the previous kit if I want a different, I won't buy another kit for the one character I have and won't buy any kits for armor unless it is a really ugly named item that is integral to my build.

Cant agree with you more.
I love Lotro banking system, all those nice tabs which you can name yourself and organize your in game hording of festivel tokens that should go in the wallet and crafting mats.
All those cosmetic tabs and the wardrobe closet. Rune-keeper wearing heavy armor.... or the nice dress she can wear in town or the rags to look poor and sit in the middle or the road mocking lowbies for not having a horse.
Then there are the summon pets which can be given orders. Bad Kitty! Stay, no more agro the pack of elite trolls if you want to eat.

I see i'm not the only one that plays LOTRO too! LOL
But yes, LOTRO has many many nice features that DDO could really use. I would love to be able to resize all my user interface panels like in LOTRO. and hmmm renaming banking tabs, and hmmm wardrobe closets, and hmmmm.....LOL

Yes, please! All that!
It seems like I go to LotRO as much to play dress-up and deco the house as to actually adventure.

housing is something I would like to see and well the crafting is lumped together in DDO vice the several in Lotro and baking we dont eat and regen on the move in DDO we are civilized and eat at the tavern like good upstanding citizen's promoting the local economy of Stormreach.

You gotta remember, all the cosmetics and stuff came about in DDO, AFTER, LoTRo. The stuff in LoTRo is part of the original code there, but has to be added in here. And it's not as easy as cut and pasting it. You add something, it changes the way 500 other things work and you gotta chase them down and fix them too. Simple example: Ingame Mail. All your mail was on one tab. When they added the 2nd tab, some people were seeing ingame mail from guild members/friends on the wrong tab. And this was a relatively SIMPLE thing to add in compared to all your "steal it from LoTRo" wants. It took them weeks to fix it and in the course, some things were lost as the mail never even got to some people. I know, I lost a couple of tomes and other things, never to be replaced.
This stuff would be nice to have, but I'd rather see other things put in the game:
Shifters, Kalashtar, Artificers, DRUIDS, bug fixes that have been around since the game went live, Voicechat autolevelling, and more.

having played lotro i can absolutly concur that its by far the best cosmetic system ive ever seen in any mmo or single player game. now thats some high accolade.
Yes it would be awesome if it was in ddo - an exact replica of that system which in my opinion is perfect.

This is true. There is big money to be made on in-game cosmetics, people like to look pretty - and although we have armor kits now, the selection is still a bit poor. In particular, the majority of hats seem to actually use the hat slot instead of replacing the graphic. Don't get me wrong, the bunny hats are great, I have a few myself, but there is so much more potential there.
I think they should stop trying to capitalize on the failed crafting system and give us some quality cosmetics, people will pay for those.

I like LoTRO's whole costume thing. It kind of makes you wonder if anyone has really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.
