Hello.

For starters, I don't really have ADHD, but you might think that if you played with me. I'm the guy that runs around in circles jumping around while everyone else is waiting for the raid to start. I love jumping/tumbling and just messing around in general.

For these reasons, I want to roll a toon with ultimate mobility (speed, jumping, tumbling, maybe even swimming lol). I was thinking of some kind of monk/rogue combo using q-staffs with the acrobat prestige enhancement but I've never messed around with either class really so I come to you guys for advice. I'd also like to be able to do some decent DPS but I've already got a FBIII barb to keep my ego up so DPS can suffer a little for fun-ness.

Restrictions: No half elf.

Cheers.

In terms of run speed, pure monk should be the fastest (+30%) unless I'm missing something; INT 8 is enough to max Concentration, Jump, and Tumble; if you went human you could take Least Passage DM for +25% run speed until you found a better Striding item.

FB I/Acrobat II should have the highest mobility and AFAIK the highest run speed too, and still does decent DPS.

There is no striding item better than Expeditious Retreat. Striding +30% is really only a 24% run increase (http://ddowiki.com/page/Run_speed).

Agreed, Acro II/Barbarian 1 - for pure running/mobility
Monk 12 grants "Abundant Step" and decent run (more for monk 20)

so it depends what you want

FvS Imo. Take the jump buff from house P. Drag Leap of Faith to 1. Spam 1. A lot. I spend half my sp in any quest on LoF.

Barb provides +10%; Acro II provides another +10%; that's less than a pure monk would have. OTOH, a barb 7 / Acro II rogue could add Sprint Boost III and would have higher burst run speed (10%+10%+45%).

What I heard is Monk speed boost stacks additively and Barb run speed stacks multiplicatively

OP,

Did you ever play that OTHER MMO?

If you did, I can only imagine you were a N-Elf.

I used to adjust my camera angle to look at the floor, just so I wouldn't have to watch them jumping.

Where did you hear that? The wiki page (http://ddowiki.com/page/Run_speed) gives no indication.

You are *exactly* like me. Most of my alts have Monk levels, Wind Stance & Run speed bonuses make for quick, agile characters they play fast.

So sir, might I suggest a splash of Monk 6 for starters, Rogue 13 for main course and 1 Ranger as Desert?

Attack Speed: 20% Competence Staff Based speed, +10%Enhancement Wind Stance & Rogue Haste Boost 4

Move Speed: Base +10% Monk Speed and +10% Acrobat, then +35% Ranger Sprint Boost

Combined with never being knocked down, plenty of Sneak Attack for added DPS and the cool factor of the being the latest Kid in town with a Quarterstaff.

Oh, and for real kicks, might I suggest Elf for flavour, take the Elf Dragonmarks and take Ninja Spy 1 Prestoge for Monk. Shadow Fade and self cast displacements make for great fortitude on a squishy Rogue ;)

That's really interesting. I hadn't considered having that many ranger levels and the added ranged ability could be really fun.

Looted a 30% striding ring a week ago :). Sure 1% slower but 1 feat less.

Lol I played Runescape when I was a lot younger if that counts.

Brother, you are a wise, wise man.

Pure monk has never really appealed to me...I couldn't stand sitting still while meditating. Also already have a lvl 15 FvS so wings are on the way. Atm I'm tossing up between two splits. Firstly OldAquarian's "Peter Parkour" 12m/6ra/2ro and as Arlathen suggested 13ro/6m/1ra.

Pros of Peter Parkour:
- Ranged ability - especially useful because of run/kiting speed
- More Hp
- Abundant step
- Rams might goodness
- Less sneak attack dependent
- Lower DPS when sneak attacking?
Cons:
- Less skillpoints (no rogue skills after maxing jump and tumble)
- No q-staff (not really a con, since dual lit II's are equally cool)

Pros of 13ro/6m/1ra
- Acrobat goodness
- Q-staffs so I can join the cool kids club
- Rogue skills
- Faster attack speed with wind stance and acrobat q-staff thing?
- Higher DPS with added sneak attack?

Cons:
- Less Hp
- Sneak attack dependent
- No ranged ability

So yeah...still can't decide. Could anyone add to my reasoning?
