With all the changes to Monk - the question is: Can pure monks do top notch dps (NOT Highest)
The goal is to be on par with fighter or barbarian as a pure monk

I will start this off with a build that focuses on DPS - not stunning or AC etc.
And will hope for evaluations and suggestions to see if Monk is finally a dps class
Some rules: no more than +2 tomes required, only 1 past life (monk is too good to not allow one)

Some info on this build:
6d6 Sneak Attack Damage
Earth Stance for + to CRIT, and +die
Past Life Monk for +die
(Remember unarmed is 10% faster and gets full STR on offhand)

If you're not taking the Void line you can dump Wis and pump Str, based on your assumptions that you're not worried about stunning or AC.

You can have a very viable high dps toon, just make sure you have 18 con after tomes, or 18 str after tomes for either earth 4 or fire 4. also a 17 dex after tomes for GTWF.

Fire 4 dark path = high dps
earth 4 light path = high dps (x3 crits, yes it does make that much of a difference.)
