Thank you to everyone who came on the Elite Hound I ran earlier. I failed to get a screenshot for the fastest raid thread, and not sure if it was indeed the fastest. But a 9 minute elite, with close to 3 minutes burned while a certain professional loot sacrifice was afk seems pretty exceptional to me. No deaths, no need for more than 4 stones. Wish they were all that smooth.
Good job by all sticking to their assignments and the communication was unbelieveably smooth. Thx again.

he mentioned 4 stones, which is a good amount.
Possible with just the initial 3 hounds - with a warchanter with HC (did it with a non pure WC too). HC along with enough luck to ensure they keep meleeing and not use there dance (which I understand is less often now since the tharaak hound AI changes) is enough.
Proper buffs to there other stats like reflex saves helps too, to negate the bess from messing up there dps. Positioning is important too, to ensure nothing weird happens to cause dogs to miss due to geometry issues, as every hit counts.
speed record im sure is around the 6-7min mark, sicne the normal one is like 5, and it only takes another ~60 seconds on elite if done flawlessly.

I don't see why not, as long as they have sufficient HP and another healer watching them in case they get bees and can't self-heal.
It's a common misconception that you need intim to tank Hound, even on elite. You really don't. Another misconception is AC is needed, and while it can certainly help, it won't keep you from taking damage when the bees come. It's just another case of people being a bit too narrow-minded when it comes to who is a "tank" and who is not.

Anyone can tank elite xyzzy given a few requirements.
But if you wanna go for a speed run, a good intimidate score and the Bramble Casters from dq2 are the best way to go.
Elite xyzzy has something around 80 intimidate DC, but a lower one, given the intimidate changes, should be enough.
Wife had 70 intimidate, a full incite DT plate, low ac so she gets more hits and the brable casters were able to hold agro most of the fight. The extra dmg helps it go faster too.

Generally 2 reasons: reason 1 is people see other people looking for a tank and take the word literally thinking a 'tank' is needed
the second reason is the party needs someone comfortable being chewtoy that has/undestands a solid fog clicky, or possibly just isn't ********, and tank describes that role of someone getting and holding aggro on something even if it's a wizard.
Edit: I've seen intimidate used very effectively before U9 to keep aggro off the puppies and compensate for slack healing, but with changes to the mechanic i'd expect the puppies to take aggro before intim refreshes now anyways. I much prefer a fog clicky due to the persistant nature of it (not something you have to be in range of at the second you hit it, with a long reuse timer for a second try)

Our tank is the tank we use in most every raid, though I could not tell you his stats, but he always does a phenomenal job. As for stones we used the initial 4 you get, but only charmed 2 puppies and killed the 3rd once 2 were charmed. That way we had a second round of charmed dogs that would only focus on mama, and you seem to always get more keepers before the 2nd full round of charms completes. It just turned out that we didn't need the extra keeper stones.

So I'm a little late to the party it seems... Project I was working on kept me busy for a bit and I haven't been checking the forums. On the positive side, I've got pics of this elite hound, and I've only necro'd it by a week or so...
