Shards: I think the biggest problem with epic crafting is getting the shard. Particularly in the desert and von. The process is open ended as you can run a lot of raids and never get the shard you need. I have run about 80 von6's on two toons and still dont have an SoS shard.

Solution: Buy shards with raid tokens. Maybe 20 or even 30 if you are feeling mean. This would be analogous to getting named items as your 20th raid reward, but easier to code.

Scrolls: Mainly a problem in the desert. They have a really low drop rate and there are so many scrolls the one you want has a really bad chance of dropping.

Solution: Scroll swap npc. I have no problem with some of the better scrolls being harder to get than others. One way to keep the ratio of good to bad scrolls, but still allow someone to eventually get the scroll they want is to swap x junk scrolls for 1 good. For example you would trade 10 chainmail coif scrolls for 1 marilith chain scroll. This would also increase the worth of the junk scrolls as a market would open up for them. Could divide desert scrolls into 3 tiers: Tier 1 (junk) trade 1:1, Tier 2 (ok but situational) 5:1 and Tier 3 (best) 10:1.

Seals: I think seals are ok as is. There are many more opportunities to get seals than shards. It can still be tough to get the one you need, but tough is ok - impossible isnt.

NO scroll swap
YES shard trade w/ tokens or raid tokens.

I like the idea of trading tokens for seals and shards.

I would say trade 80 raid tokens for a shard or 40 quest tokens for a seal

Part of the problem is the drop rates. Alot of people SOLO the epics so they can keep the loot, mainly the scrolls, for themselves. I posted a solution to this that is a win for everyone:

Basically upping the drop rate based on the number of players (not hirelings) in your group.

This would help alot especially in the desert IMO.

Those that solo would then just dual/triple box and park their alts at the start.

had the same idea, but about scrolls... X amount of tokens for a bound to char scroll ><

I hate scrolls droprate, it basically says : lul u better have a caster to farm else you never gonna get what ya need!

I think that scrolls should all be generic as was somewhat hinted at previously.

I think a new collectible should be created, 1 for raids and one for non raids and have it drop in the end chest of those levels. For instance in EV1 end chest you get a "red dragon's tooth" collectible and from EV6 you get a "sliver of red dragon's heart". Turn in 20 red dragon teeth for a von seal of choice or 20 slivers of red dragon heart for a shard of choice. These can either drop in the chest and be unpassable or drop on the chest like epic tokens and you pick them up. Bound to account of course.

This solves the messy coding of adding epic 20th reward lists and makes it so you have to run quests in a specific pack instead of running a bunch of echrono then buying evon shards with epic tokens. This seems like the easiest to implement idea as much of the coding can be copy/pasted from various other areas like epic tokens on chests and collectible turn ins.
