Attempted Guild expullsion via a TR noob?

Was running Searing Heights as leader of a party when a TR guy joined up. He kept suggestion that I was wasting my time doing it and wasting everyone elses time running around in there also. Kept sending me tells left and right basically trying to get me to abandon what I was doing to serve his goals which was to run Deleras part 2 Nx8, H, E because he was 3 times Tr'd. I told him he could go do something else if he wanted, but he stayed. Them more tells to me and then started in on group saying that 4 of us weren,t doing as much as 1 him. I said whatever dude, this is a team effort not a zerg party. He said he was just trying to help me out, btw Ive been playing for years and I told him that and if I needed any help I would ask for it. The I got some incoherent noise and soon after he left the group, which was fine by me. Shortly after I get a tell from one of my guildmates, apparently the other guy is his brother, who tells me his bro wanted me expelled from the guild! [What] did I do? I explained basiclally what happened and my guildmate explain that his bro could be a pain sometimes and not to worry about it. Also to mention that his bro was not even in our guild and to get mad at me for not listening to him try and dictate to me how to play and what to do and then try to get me booted from guild was a REALLY low thing to do. [REMOVED] is now added to my ignore list because I never want to have a person like that ruin my fun and try to tell me how to level or where to go! My guildmate suggeted that if this were to happen again to quietly make up a excuse to leave the group, but being party leader it really was not a option. I could see if I joined his party but it was the other way around. Anyone have similiar experiences like this , please tell! BTW I did not get expelled but just the attempt to try to get me out for him being a overbearing TR know-it-all really [upset me.]

I've run with people like that before. They think they're uber just because they've TRed multiple times. That just means they've made it to level 20 a few times. Doesn't mean they're good.

Sounds like a pretty legitimate gripe to me. Unfortunately, not much you can do about this sort of thing other than /squelch.

I'd be annoyed too if someone joined my group and told me I was wasting my time with whatever I was doing. My first response would have been.. "So why did you join this group then??"

I dont think so. They were in the same party, and it sounds like no more tells where sent after the party ended, so the OP was 'subjecting himself to it'. The OP did not squelch him, ect. IMO, to make it harassment, you have to try to avoid it yourself first.

Yes the guy was being unpleasant but dont attempt to get someone banned for making (bad) suggestions.

OP don't let it bug you too much, just make sure to never run anything with him again. You'll bump into some pretty big a-s-s hats every once in a while. People like that are the reason I stay away from the uber leet zomg imsoawesome type players.

Don't let anybody tell you what quests you're running aren't the "right ones". I did all the searing heights slayers/rares/explorers myself!

Done it.

I TR'd the first time with very basic gear and Tier 2 greensteel weapons, no hp item, etc.

Then went from fleshy my 2nd life to warforge 3rd life.

Lost all my neato RR gear and fleshy armors, etc.

Still made it back to cap again both times within a few weeks of play.

Thinking about a 4th life as a drow sorc. I think I have Litany as my my only caster gear :P


TR doesn't mean good though.
Don't be afraid to tell a TR that they suck. :)

I'd also find another guild... just the fact that the guildie took his brother's **** into consideration is enough for me to pull my million plus renown from the guild and say bye bye. Plenty of good guilds out there, no need for that kind of drama - especially if it was from a non-guild member as a known griefer.

Sadly, there's a LOT of TRs running around who don't know the basics of the game mechanics, they've been carried to 20, often repeatedly, and only do what they've been told to do, zerg zerg zerg!

I've run into similiar people, telling me I don't have a clue, etc, and I have a simple solution for that. I tell the party, 'recall, we're reforming' and anyone who doesn't come out gets left out of the reform..including the idiot with earplugs regardless of whether they recalled or not :)

No one has to take that, and I'm surprised you put up with it as long as you did. I would have told him to go away, nicely at first and if that didn't work, very sternly. If the guild booted you because of it then you probably wouldn't want to be part of that guild anyways because again, no one needs to put with someone like that.
