Necro 4 drop rates, Get 'em while they're hot! ..

I read in the patch that they upped it.
In the last 6 Ghosts runs i believe about 12 named items have dropped.


4 cloaks of ice,
2 etheral bracers,
4 bows of elements,
and 2 armors

Come on really? This much of a drop rate increase?

Edit: or is this just a coincidence?

gah, see, all that farming i did way back when, worthless :[ (comparatively).

i really think they should scale drop rates for more useful rare loot, but i guess it's ok that they are making good loot more accessible. (i never liked ethereal enemies anyway :P)

One fleshmaker: Nothing

3-4 Infernos: Nothing.

I can confirm that sigil drops are still a pain.

You are doing the golem, marut and keyed chests in flesh, Vol, and inferno? Those are the only places I've pulled named loot from in those quests.

I did a full flagging run including Litany and I looted Boots of the Innocent, Bluefire Necklace and Chord of reprisals. If the drop rates were upped then cool, but I don't feel as lucky now.:)

Yeah, I posted something as soon as I saw the release notes. For me, it's the bracers and cloak from Ghosts and those dang boots.

Sucks about the sigil being a pain still.

They shouldn't assume it's a bug yet. They did say "significantly increased" and he probably had a bit of luck, as there are others running them with no where near the same results.


Electric Haze and Docent of Quickening unfortunately are not among the named items affected by this (or shouldn't be since Litany of the Dead was not mentioned along with the four flagging quests).

Didn't know it drops in the shield chest (that's what you're describing right?), but named loot does come from the end chests.

Yes the shield chests are the places I've seen drops in those quests never the main. I have maybe one pair boots left in the bank somewhere, had eight or nine at one time. I never got an attonement but seen it pop a few times. I hate that silly bone shield in flesh that thing always pops for me.

Pretty sure I got my RoUO from the end chest in Fleshmaker and that was well before U10.1.

How ever I have heard from friends that they had almost as good of luck in temple as they did ghosts.

Fleshmaker's is pretty **** loot I think, (Corpsecraft, Unknown Origins, Thoughtful Remembreance, Carved Bone).

I'd go with something like a fluke. Just relatively lucky coupled with increased drop rates, bound to happen.

But, on the bright side, you had a lucky streak, so if I were you, id hurry up and put those on the AH for tons of plat before prices sink. Though if I suspected I was on a lucky streak, id probably try my luck someplace better...

I actually always liked the necro IV series... necro I - III were always the more boring ones... although an occasional gem within them.

Party with 5 players.

ghost:7 runs on hard=>2 cloaks (i'm doing my 10th life and only see it drop once),1 bracer and 3 bows.

Vol:5 runs on elite =>2 boots,4 trash nameds(leathers,liturgy)

mentau's:5 runs on hard and one on elite=>one ring of unknown.

Inferno:1 hard and 3 elite runs=>2 attonements.

I'm honestly think they messed the rates somehow.

I did the shield chest in Inferno twice, nothing. Didn't do the others.

In two more Infernos, picked up Glimpse of the Soul and Antithesis. Did another Fleshmakers and nothing.

It was in the notes and is now no longer. Whether they actually did update the drop rate in the four quests they mentioned I cannot confirm. I wonder why they did remove it from the release notes!

As for in what chests loot drops: The valuable named items drop only in end chest, not in optional chests like marut (only lame dagger) golem (only lame gloves) keys (none).

The optional chests do drop the shield pieces, which the end chests don't though :)

All this ofc in my experience and pre 10.1. I do know for a fact that ice cloak, boots of innocents etc drop from end chest. gotten them several times

Loot drop rates are still broken. Like it has been observed and reported, there are times when you open and get nothing (or feeble amounts and types of items), or you get normal to great loot.

It is not WAI. Submit tickets with basic info on which chest or instance your end reward dialog is in. This can help isolate the issue.

"Luck" = "Random" (yes, not truly random) and I don't like the kind of "random" you're talking about.
