The game has changed a heck of a lot since I last played two years ago. There are new quests and raids with vastly different levels of loot available as rewards and chest drops. My Wizard just hit level 6 last night and I went on my very first Chronoscope raid. Got the Scorched Bracers and Envenomed Cloak. Had a bunch of fun.

However, it did make me wonder where I should go next. I mean, there's always Stormcleave and Deleras. Tangleroot and Cult of the Six, but these are the ones I know about. Perhaps there are newer areas now, with better loot.

If you were leveling up again, what would you hit up and at what levels?

You may find something useful from the House D quest line Sentinels of Stormreach (level 7 quests).

After that you will certainly find useful named items in the Red Fens quests, enter adventure area from house K. (level 9 quests)

Check those quests in ddowiki to see all the named loot that is available and decide for yourself.

On fresh characters, I like to hit up Red Fens around level 8-11. The set items you can snag out of there are really fantastic and usually last some levels before being replaced completely.
Of note, the marshwalker set is very nice. The striding from the set bonus is the speed of a pair of 30% striders, so you'll be faster than all the pugs for a few levels :D

I think with this most recent content, I'll be running u10 for the items on new characters as well. They provide a nice in-between of random generated stuff and raid/epic gear.

Somewhere along the line, I always get a silver flame trinket upgraded to at least tier2 for deathblock and negative level absorb 5/rest. Ideally while I can still get xp from the quests that upgrade them.

Around level 7-8 ish the Red Fens is the way to go. Some really great mid level stuff in there that you will use for quite a while. My cleric is just hitting that level and grabbing her stuff from there.
