Crafting - binding problem

I've managed to use crafting to bind objects to a character successfully in the past. However on some occasions it'll fail with no real explanation as to why it won't work. It's not like item is locked or it's currently equipped or I don't have enough shards. So I'm a little confused as to why it doesn't work - unless it's because of a proficiency thing. Item is a sword that requires Master's Touch spell to use. Any ideas?

Are you sure you have enough shards?

Cannith crafted items seem to require 400, no matter what the current ML on them is.

Other than that, maybe you were standing too far away from the altar?


You should be able to bind anything, no matter if you are proficient/able to use it or not.
