Can you mix bound and unbound shards?

Is it possible to put a bound prefix and unbound suffix (or vice versa) shards onto same blank? Is it possible to overwrite an existing prefix/suffix with a shard of different binding status?

Also, how do you get BtA craftable blanks? My understanding is that only non-named items can be disjuncted[1], but where do you get non-named BtA items? I vaguely recall something like that among Red Fens quest end rewards -- is that it?

I think you can. The only example I can currently cite is from shards of potential. I had a trinket that was already BTC and enchanted and the only shards of potential I had were unbound. The altar took the item and shard without a problem.

I would think that if this worked that any mixing would work.

As for BTA end rewards, there are a number of quests that give them. I'm pretty sure that the Sharn Syndicate is one of them.

Quest chains can offer named items in addition to BtA non-named items. Sharn, Red Fens, Tangleroot can (off the top of my head) but I'm fairly certain there are others.
