Epic Helm of Frost or Helm of the Red Dragon?

If you have access to both for a Paladin, which would you choose? I'm using this as the basis for the rest of my gear on this particular toon so don't worry about what other gear I have.

Dunno, if I have enough resources to slot a 3-piece abishai on a melee toon, I do it. +2 str over dragon helm, +7 cha is also nice for a pally I guess. Never really saw what the big deal about dragon helm was, other than the fact that it dropped pre-made and was useful for evening out odd str scores (which 3-piece abishai does better now :p).

Ít depends on your other gear.

Your "best gear" will include the 3-piece abishai set and the epic claw set.

If the the 7 base strength leaves you even, go with the red dragon helm, gloves of the claw, gem of many facets and the 3 chrono items. If not, use the bracers of the claw and helm of frost, get healing amp instead of +2 con on your ToD ring, and use the trinket slot for a pale lavender ioun stone or a crafted trinket.

Both are a good choice, but The Red Dragon Helmet does not look like a Red Dragon.

Which brings me to my rant. Why do all the other Dragon Helmets look like a Dragon, but not the Red one?

Personally, Helm of Frost. Go for the Abishai 3 piece set.

On my Pally I found to-hit the biggest obstacle in Epic.

The key gear to overcome this are Shintao Set, Destruction on DT and Epic Spectral Gloves. Abishai str bonus is another +2 to hit as it rounded my str from 35 to 38.

I use Helm, Cloak and Boots for the main 3 piece, and swap in the bracers when I remove my boots (tod p3, when tanking echrono with firestorm greaves) etc. Sneak atk is on the Epic Bracers of the Hunter, so losing it when tanking is no problem, and I can swap my HP goggles for Tharnes when not tanking and without my boots.

Epic Claw set and 3 piece Abishai seems like a no brainer...but for me it would mean getting 2 new ToD rings (to retain 20% heal amp) and making Epic Fighting leathers. I would lose 6 to hit in total unless I don't use my HP goggles (4 from Destruction and 2 less SA on the Leathers Vs Tharnes or Epic Bracers of the Hunter). I like my 592hp I run around with in Epics.

So it is a balance between max DPS gear but while retaining good enough to-hit. If you never tank anything on your Pally then it doesn't matter so much.
