This is an old bug that seriously affects game play if you have any need to switch out your necklace that gives you the extra 2 boosts.
It takes away all boosts regardless of what you do, not working as intended.

takes out stalwart stances, fighter attack boost, all 5 human versatility boosts.
A dev said he was gonna look into it about a year ago. Nothing has been done.
Can you take a look at it again.
There are bugs with all the sets, I am sure others will chime in below with more of them, and if needed, video proof.
perhaps a new dev quote...'seen by a dev' coming?

ya this bug makes me not wear the set item because i can't afford to lose 2 boosts if i have to switch the necklace out very annoying

going to the sub t really takes away my gaming experience due to the beholders on the way to the hound. I can count on having zero boosts or any kind if I want to wear my tod set at all...having to switch to optic nerves or my not finished silver flame thingee..
please fix it next update...would be cool.

Happens with anything that adds uses of a ability. Sacred items remove Cleric Turns each time you swap them off, the Bard ToD sets removes my Bard Song uses each time I switch off the set, etc.
Yes, these are exactly opposite of what they should do (are a penalty to wearing the item instead of a bonus).
Bug reported many times in the past.

I'm pretty sure they're well aware of this..
Same thing with the Bard Sets, btw - swap them on-off-on-off-on-off, continually lose songs.

yes they are aware but not enough outcry to get them to do anything yet

For the record, the D&D 3.5 printed rules state that items of this type should work by adjusting your uses-per-day, not uses-remaining, so that problems like this wouldn't occur.

if they fixed that what is stopping a non-kensai 3 from shrining with veriks necklace than switching to shintao necklace or something? That way they get the benefit of the veriks set and the +2 dmg from the shintao set. I think the devs don't want us to be benfitting from 2 sets at once

The action boost bonus is a property of the Kensai/Stalwart necklaces, not the set bonus.
That aside, I don't see any logical reason why these (and similar effects) cannot be made to function as Power/Wizardry/Magi items do with respect to spell points.

Yeah, I reported this in-game a while back and got the usual brush-off. Also reported here a little later. VERY annoying when you forget, use your first 2 turns, then take it off and see 2 more disappear.

this is a rather serious thing.
I posted the video because maybe they do not play the game and cannot see how useless it can make the entire line of enhancements for fighting and PrE's if you have to switch it out.
I would rather they take out the extra 2 uses part until fixed so I can enjoy my enhancements after swimming, fighting beholders, using umd items...etc.
That thread way back when had a ton of people who did not understand the problem and I hope the video shows it more clearly to avoid it.

they would have to have vericks and shintao ring have, action boosts,use those action boosts(while not having the shintao bonus) then switch to shintao for bonus and use the other 5 uses before the next shrine.
I fail to see how this differs from casters using archmagi belt shrining buffing then switching to the main use weapon/item/belt?

If they fix it properly, then taking off the Kensei item takes away the charges, and putting it on gives them back. That's working as desired.
For a person to use up his 5 Action Boosts and then equip a Kensei item to get 2 more is absolutely fine, so long as he can't proceed to re-equip it again and again for more and more. That's an easy thing to program, as detailed in the D&D 3.5 rules.

to clarify for those that still do not understand fully..
the necklace in the video adds an extra 2 boosts if you wear it when you shrine.
The item is cursed however, as shone in the video, and when it is taken off it takes away 2, regardless of having the extra or not.
as clearly shone in the video, it takes away all boosts and does not add any except at shrine.
it cannot be 'exploited' for extra boosts....if you take it off you lose boosts, extras or not, for no reason.
broken....already mentioned by a dev as a bug...a database bug.
I just want them to fix it.
