View Full Version : What raid loot would you crunch down for some Dev answers/response?

Let's say to step into Merida, and you see this new, intimidating alter. General chat is abuzz about it, and allegedly it draws the attention of the Devs when it is activated. Or, alternatively, it garners a Dev response on a hot issue. Rumor is that it may also get a Dev to see reason (Greater Trueseeing, Lvl20). Though, everyone is unsure of it's effectiveness.
To activate it, it requires crunching up a piece of raid loot. Or, an ability tome. Or astral diamonds. Or straight up cash. There is an assumption that anything of significant value to your character may make the thing work.
Would you use it to get a Dev response for whatever current hot button issue? Would you sacrifice a treasured item that you ransacked and farmed and /rolled to get?
If so, what piece of raid loot would you be willing to sacrifice? How many astral diamonds? Which ability tome?

Yeeouch!!! :p
Anyway, it would appear that my attempt at humor and creative, hypothetical discussion has arrived too late. Either that, or someone has just successfully used the altar!! :p
Everyone,
The train has been stopped. The patch will not ship in its current state.
I will update (probably via a separate thread) when I have more news, but I can say this:
We will NOT require raid loot as ingredients.
We will NOT require bound named items as ingredients.
Many ingredients, and the *amount* of some of these ingredients were out of line.
These changed recipes should have been reviewed by various designers, but weren't (a hole in our process that we have identified and corrected to avoid for the future).
Mournlands did not have an opportunity to see or comment on these changes.
Again, I'll post more info when I have it.
Our sincere apologies for causing panic, and many thanks to all players who offered their well-thought out and constructive feedback on this issue and tried the changes on Lamannia.

Thank you, MadFloyd. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU. You have shown the community that you can and do respond to community outcry. You have shown that when a terrible mistake does slip through, the train CAN be stopped. THANK YOU!!

I think I could give up any of the kobold "spangle" trinkets. Though, my desire for good, open Dev communication is great. So, I might have to cough up a +2 tome or two.
The single astral diamond in the bank is pretty useless. I'd crush that for an answer.

Well, I guess next time we know the cost to get the train to stop! Thanks for taking one for the team FT! ;)
As a side note, Turtle will be running slower than normal for the next few weeks as "things" heal! :D

Several copies of the infested armor that my WF pali keeps pulling could be tossed in...
