View Full Version : New Cannith crafting site!

So... I was getting frustrated with the difficulties in optimising my crafting items.
I couldn't easily find prefixes and suffixes which matched for good effect, especially when building items for casters.
The ingame interface takes too long to load, and isnt that easy to understand, especially which effects are prefixes, and suffixes... so I decided to build a giant database of all the craftable effects, and compile a sortable, filterable table for them.

Check it out at http://cannith.deathwishgame.co.uk.

Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated.

Good effort!! +1

Someone posted a spreadsheet yesterday as well. Have a look at the crafting forums for the link.

UPDATE!

Can now be filtered by type of item!
You no longer have to sort, you can simply narrow the enchants to what you need!

Feedback will be most appreciated.

Nice site.

Just a couple of suggestions, we dont really need to know that an item can have +11 skill on it when we already know it can have +7.

And, if you ignore the above comment (and I understand if you do) then there is a way to make it sort regardless of number, ie search +11 is currently above search +7 which imo it should not be.

SpiritofNight

Indeed, I am working on a way to have it collapse all the skill/spell enhance types into the same entry in the table.

Its currently a bit... wordy.

trinket & bracers filters are back to front.

I think it would also benefit from the crafting level and the amount it adds to the item level & overall +

Well, that would be pretty simple if you were using xml but it looks like your using some kind of excel document so not sure how to go about doing it.

Still a nice site :)

fantastic work, was thinking about making something of the sort in xls for personal use.

Is it complete? For example I looked for something to match with my goggles of +2 attack, and the only prefixes were +int, blindness immunity and underwater action. But I thought there was more last time I looked in game.

I'm using MySQL actually, so adding/changing things is relatively easy.

Yes, this is an absolutely complete list of all the enchants in the system at the moment. I copied them all by hand.

Fantastically useful - a great resource.
Would be nice to also have the effect level as well, so I don't have to troop to the device to check whether I can make it or not.

Is my next port of call. It may take some time though. there are just under 900 lines of data, and no easy way to do them, so I have to do everything by hand.

Upgrade complete!

It now collapses similar affixes (ie all +balance skill affixes, all +armor affixes, etc.) into one row.

Can be toggled with a button.

Any more suggestions?

(those of you asking for crafting level. I *will* be putting this in, as soon as i get time to transcribe them all.)

If i click just goggles, nothing shows up, but when I did that before, it was working, seems something got messed up in an update.

Also, if I click something like cloak, then prefix, nothing shows.

How can I go about testing this?
I'd love to provide.

Another suggestion...

What is the + of each shard?

Like, if I am level 7, and want to make some twink stuff, I have to think ahead about the ML of the item. So if I want to make a feather falling ring of improved false life, I'd like to the the + of each shard before I begin.

Also, I am using Chrome, and am unable to use the site. I will totally be using this in Firefox, but thought you would like to know it looks and acts weird about your most recent updates in that particular browser.

Aw heck, another suggestion, since it'd be easy enough (BTW, you are AWESOME for doing this).

The "type" filter radio buttons (arcane, divine, elemental) could use an "all" setting, for ease.

By the way, what you are doing is EXACTLY what I had hoped someone would do. This is really incredible. +1 to you as often as it lets me!!

I noticed that you had the +1-5 enhancement bonus shards as Prefixes. They are neither prefix or suffix, though. Perhaps they should be left out altogether?

Would you be interested in making a separate table for the materials? It would be so useful to know what items would be useful to deconstruct to get the right materials for a new shard. It would also help to clear out the useless collectibles that I carry. I have a lot because I don't know which would be useful for crafting in the future.

IONDragonx

Save, Reflex +X is listed for all 5 bonuses instead of combined into one listing like the others.

There is no listing for Efficient Metamagic - Empower I nor Efficient Metamagic - Enlarge II. (Although I have no proof that they exist in game)

All eight of the entries starting with Efficient Metamagic can be compressed. You are listing the I and II versions separately.

Nit-picky again, but you switch back and forth between slashes and commas as separators. Stick with one. (Ex: Dexterity +1/2/3/4/5/6 vs Balance +1,3,5,7,10,11,13)

Hey, don't forget: This is an AWESOME tool! Thank You!

So... now the immortal question... how does one go about making it an official fansite?

First off, I think I'm going to update the color scheme :)

Its a bit... dull at the moment.

NB: for those of you who want crafting level, and mats to make, I havent forgotten about you. I just can't face 900 sets of data entry right now. It took a lot of effort to get it where it is, and I'm taking a slight breather to get it looking good before I get back to the "hard" work.

This is the tool that should have been released for the in-game crafting UI. Simply being able to search by prefix/suffix is so intuitive and yet until now has been lacking. For that, I am very grateful! The rest is simply above and beyond.

Didnt have the time to go over it in high detail but noticed two things at a glance.

One, Blueshine cant apply to shields. I know it says it can initially on the crafting UI, but it also has 'required: metal armor' and it does not count shields as armor. I tried it on a mithral shield and it didnt work, I suppose its worth verifying it on a steel shield just in case. But likely it should get changed to a 'no' so people dont plan to craft something that wont crunch.

Two, the different entries for things with 'lesser' and 'greater' versions arent collapsing, and I really wish they would. Its amazingly convenient to have things like Balance 1-13 all on one line, and really it seems things like Fire Resistance and False Life which also have different tiers could benefit from the same treatment. So like Lesser/Regular/Greater False Life would be on one line, just like Balance 1-13, for example.

Props again, it really is a good tool and Ill give it a closer look when I have time and note any further comments. Cheers.

Very nice, I have only been deconstructing waiting for something like this to appear! :D

On your numbers lists, you use 1/3/5... you could replace that with 1, 3, .. 13 and save some room. (imo, don't waste time if you are ok with it)

Does the save vs enchantment really go to 6 while the others only 5? seems odd

For those of you following this space, I will be adding crafting levels, and crafting materials to the database in the upcoming days. Would have been today, but the crafting hall went down so I lost the ability to transcribe from there.

I will be copying levels from the DDO wiki while the Hall is closed, but will be checking through everything myself by hand to ensure correctness when it comes back up.

Thank you to all of my followers for your very kind comments.
It gives me a great sense of pride and achievement to know that it is being used well.

Very nice and extremely useful...

Only comment I have is that I saw the check boxes (goggles? amulet? trinket? etc) as being "OR" as opposed to "AND".

That is, if I choose "googles?" then I expected it to select only goggles=Yes
If I then chose "amulet?", I would expect it to also show amulet=yes (that is either googles=yes or amulet=yes, not requiring BOTH googles=yes and amulet=yes)

Would be nice to be to see what prefixes can be put on either googles or amulets (or bracers or rings, etc). I am rarely interested in know what I can craft that could go onto 2 different items exclsuively.

Now updated to include crafting level.
Collapsed entries will have to be expanded to show the crafting levels of the sub-affixes.

Will be adding filtering by crafting level tomorrow. Its 3am here so I'm going to bed.

Question to those watching this space: The title bar is getting a bit cluttered, I want to shrink the titles of the columns, what can I abbreviate the headers to?

EDIT: Bear in mind that, for now with the crafting system down, the numbers are taken from the Wiki. They may need updating when the system comes back up (I'm assuming with the downtime on Monday). Also there are some that are missing from the wiki.

Strictly, anything which is "offhand weapon/shield" works on any one handed weapon or shield.

So bane, flaming etc can be put on shields,

And *most* shield properties can be put on onehanded weapons.

Those are the hidden entries which are either the collapsed versions of affixes, or the uncollapsed ones, depending on which state you are toggled into.

Contributed my .5 GBP :)

BTW, next set of improvements that would be pretty fantastic is to add a hover-over on each effect with its cost in essences/shards/collectibles.

For those of you watching this spot, I have not gone completely off the radar.

I'm currently implementing more crafting details (materials (lesser/greater/extras)) as a popup when you mouse-over the crafting recipe names.

I'm tempted to outsource the data entry to the community, but to a certain extent i'm nervous about people intentionally putting in erroneous data (trolls will troll).
This community is lovely an' all, but theres -always- some rogue people.

My potential sollution to this was map the IP of a few people who have contributed helpfully to this thread, and allow them access to add/modify data if they wish.

Thoughts?
