Im looking for a bit of help. I just recently went vip and really want to play a monk despite not having 32 point builds. After thinking about it, I could play a class I hate to farm the favor or I can make a monk and farm it then GR once I unlock 32 points if my understanding of that is correct.

I wanted to play a dark monk that could solo, so Half Elf looked like what I wanted with wand and scroll healing. And I wanted a High DC for my abilities and AC so all build points are going into wisdom.

Ive played a few toons up till about 8-9 so I still have a lot to learn. One thing I need to find is a guide on crafting gear I hear about all this Green Steel stuff and dragontouched but I digress, What I need help with is this: 1.) How do the feats look? and skills? I like the jump skill so i dont need buffs to jump =D 2.) Enhancements, I dont know the best way to handle these. Id like a level by level breakdown if anyone happen to has the time. Im mainly going to be soloing because I play late nights and like the challenge.

Why not buy the 32 Point Unlock,it make no sense u wait till u get the Fav. and then buy a GR to get ur Monk to a 32 Build.

What Stance way u wanna go?If u wanna Splash ur Build,not many run a pure Monk^^,u can mix 6 lvl Pala inside to get high Saves and u can be a tank.My Monk is 12M,6Pala,2Fighter dex Build.

Cleric Dilettante feat works very nice.

Uhm... I don't think this is really needed: without spending lvl-up points and with minimal gear, your WIS would be 14 base + 6 item + 1 human adaptability + 3 monk class enhancements + 2 tome + 2 (at least) ocean stance = 28 (+9 modifier); this means your Stunning Fist, finishing moves and Touch of Death would have 39+ DC. This is plenty for normal content and even for some epic quests.

You should spend your lvl-up points for DEX (since you are picking Weapon Finesse) or STR (if you forego Weapon Finesse).

One important thing to note is the requirements for Ultimate stances. You need to have a base amount of that stat to get it, and from your build, the only one you're gonna get is water, which kinda sucks. Fire, Earth, and Air are all decent. Earth is very good for the strikes. Air is very good for the fast attack speed and increased chance of doublestrikes. Fire means more ki strikes, and more base damage from STR.

Well I dont have the money for 32 point builds. and Im going with the air stance for attack speed. I dont want to splash which is why I posted the build for full monk =D

As Far as build points go Ill have enough dex for the grandmaster air stance by the time I get to that point since by then ill be able to get a +2 tome.

I got the idea for wis based dark monk from

http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=210181

Where she says "Some of monks' signature abilities -- stunning fist and quivering palm, and prestige-based abilities -- are based on wisdom. Having a great wisdom score not only gets you the AC but also the ability to incapacitate trash mobs very quickly. And don't forget your touch of despair, unbalancing strike, dark punch, and curse of the void. Triple 500s from touch of despair are gravy." And I liked the Idea of it

Id change your wis and str around. and lower your dex to 15 and use a +2 dex tome to get to 17 for GTWF. Level up goes into str. and use sun stance for more str and generate ki fasster for touch of death, shadow fade, and abundent steping.

Wisdom is definitely important for monks; however, all that nice stuff (ToD, stunning fist, etc.) assumes you are actually hitting mobs and WIS doesn't affect your attack rolls (only exception being Zen Archery, which isn't your target): your attack rolls rely on STR or DEX (if Weapon Finesse build).

Well correct me if my math is wrong but lets take a look at it here 16 base + 2 tome + 2 enhancement + 6 from items + 4 Wind stance = 30 and it could be more with better gear

In my experience, you won't be spending all your time in Wind Stance; thus you will be relying on 26 DEX, which will drop to 24 in Mountain Stances.

In particular, you will need to swap to Sun Stances in order to gain Ki, especially while you try to grab hold of Oremi's necklace (i.e. the only item currently in game which helps Ki regeneration); situationally you might need to enter Ocean Stances to boost your saves or Mountain Stances to boost your hp.

I can also foresee your Power Attack being switched off a lot, due to poor "to-hit".

it could be more with better gear

Better gear includes:
- profane bonuses, provided by very few items (e.g. Litany of the Dead);
- +7 items: epic stuff;
- +3 tomes: raids;
- +4 tomes: epic raids and "The Devil You Know";
- +1 and +2 exceptional bonuses: ToD rings would be the obvious choice, but you will need to craft alignment (e.g. holy) and elemental (electric is a very common choice) burst effects on them; thus +2 exceptional bonuses are hard to slot for monks.

None of the above-mentioned gear is THAT easy to come by.
