I've got a 10th level Dwarf Paladin and am thinking of Greater Reincarnating him to take advantage of 32-point builds.

He is a pure Paladin, but do I need to buy a Greater Heart +1 so I can get a splash of say Monk or Rogue (and is this a good idea?)

Thanks fer the help.

Take a look at this page (http://ddowiki.com/page/Reincarnation) for some info that might help clear things up for you.

I also have a +1 Greater Heart for sale if you want and are on Khyber.

Not gonna say what is good for your toon in terms of splashes, as other people know more than me. I do have a paly/monk AC build toon that is a lot of fun to play though :D

The answer is YES. You will need at least a +1 greater heart of wood in order to reincarnate and change one of your levels for the multiclass.

My suggestion however, is that you play your character to lvl 20 before you do the reincarnation. I have three reasons for this.
1) You have 10 more levels wiht which to splash and therefore don't need the heart in order to do it.
2) You will have a better idea of which stats, feats, skills, etc. you want to include in your build and will probably make less mistakes after you have more experience with your character.
3) You may decide you want to TR you character at 20 and level it again to gain the 34 pt build and past life benefits. If you do this, you will have wasted the turbine points or in game trade currency that you spent for the heart of wood.

What happens to crafting levels when you reincarnate?

The reason this Paly is a Dwarf is I created him to try a DPS char and also to do crafting.

I figure what better to craft things than a Dwarf? :)

What happens to crafting levels when you reincarnate?Nothing. You keep them all.

A pally can use the extra pts but not worth retincarning unless u did not dump wisdom;) u might get by with a tome. If time is more valuble then ddo pts then go for it.... heck I just reincarned to swap two feats at high lvl and enhancements.

Hard to say for sure without knowing your current build.
