How important is twitching?

like, is it something that is absolutely necessary for good dps? it's pretty easy mind, but it just seems like a big hassle :/

I find "necessary" quite far reaching.

I do it when I'm bored, hyped up, or otherwise in the mood to - or when I'm twitching and actively dodging incoming attacks simultaneously.

However, if I am half-asleep, lazy, drunk, or afk - auto-attack is just fine.
