I miss Dane McCarty. Remember the huge Dave McCarty sig? Cantankerous and argumentative, just the way everyone should be on the forum. We had some decent flamage ole DM and I... Those were the good ole days... His old guild is still kicking I think. MAC. I've forgotten most of the old trollers, but that one sticks with me.

I miss my friend taco. He wasnt a big forum poster, but he lurked. He was one of the coolest guys in game. He had a baby girl (congrats!) with some health problems and had to stop playing. Between work, and baby surgeries, he had no time left to game. He had grown bored with the game as well.

In game.... Oddlived - "I am unique" xD.

Some of the first big raid runs i managed to squeeze into were with Oddlived, Minigirl and the gang.

Some extremely funny runs, that left a lasting impression of good times mixed with nonchalant expertise.

I still misquote soundbites from those runs sometimes when hitting a raid or quest on elite, or when an obvious 'green' player joins an experienced group for a quest or raid. xD.

I loved Kargon, he was a breath of fresh air and had some good ideas. When I first heard about LR and how tomes would reapply I thought of him because it reminded me of one of his proposals. And of course there was his multiyear ham campaign that forever changed the face of this game.

Another missed forum personalty who always contributed positively was Mystic Theurge (sp?). Good ideas, excellent background in the source material.

In game I've had quite a few people I play with disappear, but if I were to pick one it would be Zak. He was a really good guy who I looked to as an example of what a good guildy and good team player should be. He was fun, supportive, knew his stuff, and looked out for others. He taught me the very important word Tabarnak! As guild leader he promoted people both for being superuber raid leaders, and for just being good guys that helped out guildies when needed.

As for one I DO miss however, my first guild leader who last I knew had slipped into a coma - his ingame name was Lob, for Lord of Blades. As far as I know he never logged on again, and his guild, the Brotherhood of Steel, is now defunct. Heck of a nice guy and a great player.

Mrsparkle - We used to call him Mrs. Parkle. He was the first person I know of back in the days when Gianthold was endgame who used to tell people to go buy a few hundred stacks of pots, because we arent waiting for a cleric.

Angle of death. Didnt realize he slaughtered the spelling on the word angel until he was 6th level. Hilarity ensued when people made angle jokes to no end. Stop being so obtuse, angle... He still played the toon for a while, even up to the cap 16 days.

The people I completed our first Shrouds with. Those who stuck it out through the failed attempts to finally succeed. They know who they are. This one was especially tough when it first came out. Sagrata could wipe the entire party back then. A sagrata + fire elemental pull pretty much had people starting over in part 1 to try to get a better random four mobs in part 2.

I have to say this, and yes I said this in at least one post to him, but I never found Kargon as hilarious others nor did I think of him as a breath of fresh air. However, I did appreciate the effort that he put into "being" Kargon and how much he enjoyed DDO.

Definitely agree about Dane I liked reading his posts, loved the Mature adventurers playing card thread :( those days the boards were fun.

Mystic Thurge is another I miss reading as well

and like many others I miss Kargon :( I even made a thread last year I think of all the in character types we have on the boards he was the best at it.

And while he was more of a Turbine employee I miss Quarion when I started up in the game he was one of the few that posted a lot on the boards even in random threads that had nothing to do with the game. Definitely miss him.

Ah...Dragonseis. Still on my friends list. Tharashk's "gift" to the server merge. He'd be what? 16 years old now. Probably playing MoH or such. He was a nice kid. His charming wizzy was amazing! With him, I saw my first beholder being charmed. Of course he died at least 30+ times and I couldn't get a word in edgewise, but he knew how to build a character. Playing him, well...

Just browsing the class abilities makes me start thinking of builds again, even though I am 2+ years out of date on DDO now... but something about INT-based repeater builds (warforged?) instantly comes to mind. Ah the good old days.
