can not add necro bonus to epic spyglass?

I have an epic item ( epic spyglass ) with a green augment slot ( thus accepts yellow ), a yellow augment catalyst and a yellow augment crystal for necromancy, put all of them in the epic stone of change but doesn't accept the recipe

btw, this is exactly what I wrote on a ticket and the only answer I got was:

Think the catalyst has to be the same color as the slot, not the augment (so try it with a green catalyst).

is this normal?

Yes, the GMs are there for questions but it can happen they won't have the answer to your issue.
e.g. they should know the catalyst of the right color is needed, but may happen they don't.
You probably have to give them a good detailed explanation beyond noting the device didn't work as you expected.

The GMs are certainly not going to solve the issue for you, except in certain cases such as being stuck, etc.
When there's an issue it is a good habit to ask in chat or the forums first, because chances are high someone have heard about it and might be of help.

The GMs are useful to see if they can't point you to more infos, but otherwise they will default to telling you to open a bug report.
These are important even if you found your answer because it's the only way the devs will look at the problem, let alone climbing the priority list.

It took me way to long to figure that out with epic Xuum (violet slot with red effect). :)
