Off the top of my head, air elementals deal electrical damage, along with gnoll archers (windlasher), and all manner of casters.

Yeah I made a 33% electric absorption trinket for my cleric for epic VoN6. Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to really test it out since I've been put at ice base my last few runs and I don't get hit much there. On other bases though, the djinn's chain lightnings were pretty beefy and killed me on one or two runs - usually because the person who had the aggro was running all over the **** place.

I think if you can get your elemental crafting high enough, it's worth it to craft one. I forget what the minimum level is, but there are also quests where lightning spells will come up a lot such as the pit or undead wizzies in the sands.

In fact, I think lightning's the most common element you get smacked by where resist energy doesn't cover it.

Electric Traps in the ramp in Epic OoB are pretty nasty.

Or... the Electric Traps in Epic Tide Turns, as well as the Ogre Magi at the end of that.

the Djinni in EV6 are the ones I worry most about. My Bard has the Ring of the Djinn just for this occasion.

1) I'm guessing that Fire Absorbtion will be crafting level 80 or higher and we just haven't seen it yet for that reason.

2) I should craft one for my Fighter just for VoD. If I have to turn off Power Attack and avoid using my Fighter Haste Boost in order to avoid pulling aggro anyway, then I might as well ditch the bloodstone and pick up some extra durability in the bargain.

What's the min level of that shard? Kobold not the only one who remember WW.

Doesn't look like it according to Turbine's "official" crafting guide.

Fire Absorption 33% FIRE Level 3 MEL value 3 That doesn't tell you the exact crafting level, but that matches electrical absorption, and the shard levels on that chart go up to level 9.

Storm giants. Blue dragon (is there only one in DDO?). Malhurat, red-named flesf render in "Sinister Storage".

Blue dragon (is there only one in DDO?)

There's more than one, but at the present time you only actually fight one. The others are non-combat NPCs, such as Ternathear.

can you put the absorption on rings, or just trinkets?

I learned (reminded?) the hard way that kobolds in elite waterworks really like tossing around lightning bolts.

It's brutal when they do their "double back" damage and one-shot your new lowbie sorc. :(

Or you could just answer the question or not if you don't know.

I'm at work so I only get to goof off so much.

A simple question is easy to answer. You point people to guides when they are asking a ton of questions or when they want a walkthough/howto.

I perused that guide, it's very nice and concise. unfortunately there's WAY too much to click on to really figure out what all absorption can be put on.. click each link and do a quick search... which is why I just asked a quick question..

oh well I'm at work, i'll come and complain more later :D

Trinket only.

That guide has a list of what effects can fit on which slots. I just figured that anyone who wanted to know the answer to a particular prefix/suffix/slot combination question would probably have more prefix/suffix/slot combination questions, so I'd point them to all of the information that they'll need to get their questions answered.
