View Full Version : TR: how do I avoid losing ingredient bags?

I've never put any of my ingredient bags in my shared bank, as I've heard the horror stories about bags/ingredients vanishing. But I'm getting close to my first TR, and I've heard stories about losing ingredients from the TR cache as well. So, if I put my bag in the shared bank, I might lose it, and if I keep it, it'll go in my TR cache and I might lose it. Is there anything I can do to avoid putting these ingredient bags and their contents at risk?
If necessary I can empty the bags and manually transfer the items and empty bags to other characters prior to the TR, but that would be a huge hassle. Is there a better way?

TBH I keep a set of medium bags in the shared bank and use them to pass stuff freely between main, alts, and mule and don't have a problem with missing stuff. I had 2 lightning soarwoods and maybe some drowshood disappear a long time ago. Then read a post by somebody that suspected the missing ingredients was from switching between toons too much. There advice was basically to get a fresh client after every 3 logins. Nothing has turned up missing since I started using that advice.
I'd be more afraid of losing things by manually transferring if there were a lot. I figure there would be too many opportunities for a hiccup to cause problems. Just me.
TRed 2 months ago, no problems.
It might not be a bad idea to make sure that the freebie bags are empty though. It seems like the majority of the current issues revolve around them, but AFAIK that was also only on Lamannia.
Good luck!
I've TR'd repeadedly and never lost anything.
That said, easiest thing to do is hand your large ingredient bag off to another character. (And if you don't have one, why not? Free with 2nd tier favor from The 12 that you should already have if you are ready to TR)

Nope, just exiting the game and logging back in.

Marupal: interesting point. I usually only log in to 1 character, but sometimes I'll hop back and forth between several when I'm moving stuff via shared bank. I'll be careful when I do that.
Gkar: I couldn't handle having only 1 large bag. Right now I have two, one for crafting essences, shards, mystical items (whatever they're for), and the deconstruction mats, and the other for epic stuff, dt runes, IQ1+2 pie pieces, vale pie pieces, etc. And since that's not enough, I have a 30-count bag for all my actual vale/shroud ingredients, and a 12-count bag with a ton of necro II and III scarabs.
If the ingredients are all going to be safe when I TR, then it seems like the best bet is just to not transfer anything.
