Have to say, it is probably on your side of things. I have been playing since the game went live, and I have seen some of the lag issues the game has had in the past. Recently, no big game breakers. I even play my second account on a 6 year old machine, and I currently don't have lag issues.

Maybe there is some issue somewhere between your setup and the ddo client, but to come out with a general statement of "this game lags so I can't play" is just so way off base when thousands of us are playing without these game breaking lag issues. maybe the statement "my ISP sucks so I can't play, or somewhere between Thailand and Boston is something slowing my connection so I can't play, or my machine has no memory so I can't play" would be more appropriate.

Lots of different kinds of lag out there, I guess is what I am trying to say.

I havent noticed any real difference. Get lag in raids sometimes but other than that not bad

No it isn't his side, that is to say I can at least vouch for his issue. Talking with guildies and we're getting hit extremely hard by lag thats never happened before update 9 and its happening to all of us at the same time. Its server side

rpg game devs really need to pay(?) their players for a regular statistically accurate survey of lag.
this is the only really way to know the degree to which lag is affecting your business over time.
unless you scientifically isolate its presence and change, you will not know which bit of your busines model is working or not.

and yea, lag can be due to anything between and including server and player pc.

I'm on Thelanis and rarely see lag. Rarely. It is in SubT, Shroud when someone icestorms, or in the mazes in Shadow Crypt. My 18MB+ download speed rocks things along.

Do you lag in other games? Tried www.speedtest.net? I do see some lag when I am on a hotel network with my "min specs" POS laptop, but I expect that...

My old IT guy calls this an "ID 10 t error", but that is harsh.

Have to agree there has been a pick up on"all kinds of lag" issues since U9 imo.
Last night was a classic example.. inside Finding the Path setting off for some ELITE Dreaming Dark action when we go to the pre boss fight..kill 20 coloured dreamy spiders and a few rainbow ghosties" (sorry for the dig at lack of mob devlopment) when all of a suddenbang party wiped out in a flash.

Now I'm not saying some of us are'nt a little on the squishy side but for my TR3 Rogue to go from 450+hp -62hp in a heart beat..well possible yes, reality..no.. and the other 5 members who all had equally high if not double my HP all hmet with a similar fate.. when bing... we all starting popping outta grp... last night was for me one of the worse lagfests I have seen since I landed on the US servers almost 18 months ago, and I have always defended against the critism that the game over here was to lagged to play or latency was a real issue... because imo it isn't... but ... it's gotten worse and worse lately.
It's no longer just affecting 12man high DPS raids its all over the place.. marketplace is one that springs to mind, zoning crashes into instances is so regular now, bank /vendor/AH delays, heck even on Korthos I have had lag lately.
Sure some of it is linked to my end maybe, but strange nothing else seems to have issues my end and I am not sure how I cause lag and discon's for the other 5 or 11 member of the paty... SO agree OP its gotten bad and needs addressing..SOON!

But OP... it doesnt warrant the kind of post you have hit out with.here. if your not happy, and feel you dont wanna play.. then simply, dont.

Actually yes, I have been experiencing lag but only in the Auction, from winning a bid to receiving the item in the mail, and detaching it. This afternoon especially, when it took about 4-5 minutes for the item to appear in my mail and another 1-2 minutes to detach it. Only noticed this after U9.
