Ok, i am returning to DDO am currently F2P. I only have 1 pack Reavers Refuge.
My main is a 1 time TR barb. First is there a list of F2P only quests? Second if my top guy is broke, is there any way to level a F2P TR up to 20?
Have tried reading the forums, but they are jumbled and can't find the answers to these questions. I right now am not sure i am going to put money into the game just yet. If i have to level a F2P to 20 for favor, whats the best route?

I'm not sure if it's possible to do, because I haven't done it quite yet. I'm a F2P player and my highest level toon is currently at level 17. The trick is to use your DDO points on adventure packs and hope you can get enough favor from them to buy more packs.
There is also another trick to garner favor, but it takes more time, and I'm not even sure if it works any more after the update. Make a toon on each of the other servers and do all of the quests in Korthos on elite except for the one with the dragon (can't remember the name, and I'm at work right now). This will earn you 200 favor points on each server for a total of 1,000 points, if my math isn't off (there's six servers total, right?).
Mind you, this only works with the first toon. Additional toons won't get you as much favor as the first. Try one and see if it still works.

A list of F2P quests can be found here (http://ddowiki.com/page/Free_to_Play_quests). The F2P quests are enough (with Vale of Twilight) to get a toon to 20. For deciding which packs to purchase, I recommend Sirgog's review (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=287854).

There may or may not be a sale on DDO points where all point packages get double bonus points. It makes the lowest package a little more affordable, and would let you get enough points to get the key packs to get you to lvl 20.
I say may or may not, because when you click on the link for the announcement in the Dev Tracker, it gives you a "Page not found" error, and there is no official announcement posted. I predict they posted that sale too early, and that it will be available shortly.

I'll write here, since my question is somewhat related to f2p and buying content.
I'm f2p at the moment. I know there are some perks for former VIP accounts (I read this: http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=2224606&postcount=1 , about Premium status). My question is: do I get the exact same perks (higher gold storage, 50 auctions and so on) even if I just buy TPs, instead of subscribing?

I know you dont loose access to gold or auction house.
You loose the VIP things (unless you have otherwise bought or unlocked them) like Monk, WF, Shared bank (the first 20), 6 of the 10 character slots VIP gets (you go down to 4 slots), and rapid access to new content (you have to wait until its available to purchase in the store).
I cant recall offhand if VIP gets free veteran status. Even VIP's have to unlock 32 point builds, Drow, and FVS. I have never actually been VIP. If I had it to do over again, I would be, but I dont know if its worth it to go VIP now that I own almost everything.

I'm VIP and I can say we don't get 32 point builds.
I bought all these things through favor though, because VIP get much easier access to favor. (more quests available to them.)
If I had to do it over again, I would have waited for drow to unlock, as that doesn't take much at all. (after I bought them I almost immediately unlocked them...)
The rest of the stuff I don't regret buying... I mean I do, but only with knowledge that I could have only gotten by buying it - Like I bought monks, but will never play one, after trying one out.
If I were you though, I wouldn't really bother with the packs. They are nice, but nothing imo that you can't live without. Some of them are just downright not fun imo. Since it's all opinion, I don't think someone else can or should tell you what to buy in terms of the packs.
For example I hate the catacombs, but it's one of the "best" packs.
To me the most worthwhile thing that I bought was 32 point builds. Then would be bank space. Everything else (except tomes... but only if your sure your going to keep your character.) is meh.
Drow imo were like designed for FTP people. you have to unlock them but it's fast, and is as close to 32 point builds that you can get by with on completely free to play.
I also disagree with buying packs to earn more favor... It sounds good on paper, but in reality, you'll spend a couple days just looking for a group for them. Some of them, you will probably never get a group for.
Then if your group fails, gotta wait a couple more days to find a new group of people.
It works if your willing to wait hours everyday in hopes that you might get lucky I guess.

Account comparison (http://ddowiki.com/page/Account_comparisons) is the best page for seeing who gets what and how.

Eh? Who told you catacombs was one of the best packs?
Best low level pack is Delara's. Carniflex and XP trinket.
Best overall pack is Vale. Almost purely due to Greensteel Crafting, but also partly because the quests are at a level where F2P quests run out.
You don't need any packs to level up to 10-12.
If you want to level easier without too much repetition after that, Gianthold and Sands are good choices.
If you find it hard in the upper teens, Vale as mentioned, and maybe Reavers for Dragontouched and Amrath for TOD.

Eh? Who told you catacombs was one of the best packs? It offers the third 'best' favour/TP ratio (http://ddowiki.com/page/Adventure_Packs) and offers 66 favour at very low level. A F2P player can pick it up almost from the start and it gives you an early boost in favour farming.
Not a good idea to buy, but that was my thought process when I wasted the 250TP on it at level 3...

this is the type of information, that needs to be sticky.
Most of the information doesn't help returning or new players.
The link with how much favor is in each, is priceless.
Thanks for everyone thats responding.

Yes. Any purchase of TP with real money will make your account premium.
Actually, all you have to do is spend Turbine Points on any adventure pack and you'll get a premium account upgrade. You don't have to spend real money on it.

And that is what every single source I've read says as well.
The link with how much favor is in each, is priceless.Don't use it as too much of a guide. I'd recommend searching the forums for reviews (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=287854) and other advice about the packs. For the most part you are going to want to focus on the loot and experience the packs make available.
If you are planning on farming TP with favour runs you are best off unlocking veteran status on one server - 1000 total favour on one character, possible with F2P, easy with a couple of higher level packs. Then you can easily run level 4 characters to 100 favour on free low level content, delete, re-roll, re-run. You don't need access to anything more than that for earning TP other than grabbing the first time server bonuses for total TP, and those are mostly worth it for the first few bonuses which are a really quick 100TP.

I have to second this, its not a good idea to buy early on. Yes, it gives a 'good' TP/favor ratio, but that is all that it really does, and if that is all you get it for, then its probably far more enjoyable and easier to favor farm F2P quests. The best pack to get, as has been pointed out, is the Vale. F2P players will want to focus on purchasing select mid to high level packs that fill gaps in the leveling process, or offer desireable loot. Delera's occupies levels that are filled with F2P quests, but offers great xp and loot. Still, I would look at filling out higher level content first, then pick it up later.
With vale (and RR since you have it) on a non-TR you can get to 20. If you can afford it (big if) getting Gianthold along with Vale makes the leveling process very easy. Both Vale and Ginthold appear quite expensive compared to other packs, but well worth it in my opinion.

best strategy is to buy a game card when you have the cash and wait til adventure packs and bundles go on sale.

Game cards aren't nearly as good a deal as just buying points from the store during a bonus point sale, though.

Best packs for f2p would be gianthold or vale of twillight(shroud here) for first pack.

Adventure pack sales are usually around 20% off, but last Christmas they had an awesome sale where the packs were 50% off. So it's really possible to buy a lot of content cheap, if you are patient.

This is not true. Spending TP has nothing to do with premium status whatsoever.

Seven: Thelanis, Ghallanda, Orien, Sarlona, Cannith, Khyber, Argonessen.
And, since you have a character at level 17, OP, I'm assuming you've earned Vet status on the server your Barb's on. Once you've achieved that, you can roll a toon at level 4, burn through the first 100 favor (takes about 2 hours I hear. theres a quest order for doing it fast, but I forget. A little poking around on the forums should reveal the answer.)
So that would get you 25 TP in roughly 2 hours. delete the Vet toon (ppl usually use a Barb), reroll, repeat. It's a grind, yeah. But you can make endless TP doing it. :D
