Within the dungeons and dragons world (DDO, PnP, or any other D&D games you have played) has anyone ever come across a stat abbreviated as MD? I've been searching the internet, compendium, and books for its meaning and can't find it for the life of me :/

Probably referring to Max Dex Bonus on a piece of armor, though I usually see that abbreviated as MDB. Oly thing I can think of right now.

I don't know about D&D, but in another Turbine game, Asheron's Call, there was a Magic Defense (MD) stat.

Mental Discipline?

I know that Rolemaster had
ME (Memory) and
SD (Self Discipline)

As far as DDO is concerned, I would agree that the main suspect for MD would be Max Dex. As far as P&P is concerned, I never played much with psionics after second ed, did the change MTHAC0 and MAC to something like MBAB and MD?

Hmm, well i'm not sure if I can get in trouble for talking about another game. But the game I found the abbreviation in was Dungeons and Dragons Daggerdale for xbox. It just came out today so I dunno if anyones played it. But I'll just go off of the Max Dex idea for now. Thanks :D

Only time I've run across MD in DDO is in reference to Mordakidens Disjunction, the 9th level arcane spell completely useless for PvE as no mob uses equipment. Notorious for completely breaking equipment upon release. Outside of PvP, the only time you'll run across this spell is the Abbott raid and certain traps in the inspired quarter quests

MD in 4e?
Doesn't ring any bells either, unless they mean Max Damage. Because that's what Critical Hits got nerfed to do.

Is it possible someone over-shortened UMD?

Not familiar with a stat "MD", even in 4th. There is no Max Dex in 4th anymore, either you are in light armor and get dex/int to ac, or you are not. No UMD, something similar but not listed as UMD. Is there any other context to how they are using it?

For context found your yahoo question:

In Dungeons and Dragons Daggerdale, what does the stat MD stand for?
In Dungeons and Dragons Daggerdale, I picked up a necklace that gives -1 MD and +7% faster movement speed. I'm familiar with dungeons and dragons pnp, only messed around with it for a little though. I'm just not sure what MD means, and whether or not its worth the movement speed. :/

Of course, just like DDO they may be using some made up thing for the conversion to computer game. I would try this question on the atari forums, as it seems Bedlam doesn't have any.
