Battered Guardian Shield -- how do you upgrade it?

Any ideas yet how to make it un-battered? I assume it would be done in Cauldron of Sora Katra, considering where that shield comes from.

You purchase the SAME SHAPED shield from the store, and put it and the battered into the stone of change.
