well, started thinking about bad scenarios after addition of VAT to ddo store purchases.
one that is still open or possibly affected some EU people already, is VIP subscription.
as example, i'll use my own, as shown in account management:
Subscription Plan
Special! US $59.94 Every 6 Months (33% Savings)
Next Billing Date: xx/xx
so far, so good. except that displayed price doesn't have VAT.
Turbine is entitled to changing their service fees, that i do agree with. (and thus TP purchase+vat thing is fine)
Turbine is however more or less required to tell the customers (us) if/when that price changes and update displayed price accordingly. (which so far, when looking at alternate subscription models, has NOT been done)
and as far as i know, if Turbine has not DONE so, it is pretty much illegal to charge more than displayed amount.
so, to repeat, this does not affect me yet. the due date is far in future. it is however something that would be "good to know" for most of EU subscribers.
and why not use support center/account support on web? honestly, my recent experiences with that thing is.. horrible and if i did that, i might hear something about it but all other europeans? probably nothing, ever.
