View Full Version : Does anything effect Reward List loot?

I was always under the impression that for the majority of cases, the list of items you are presented with as potential rewards at the end of a quest or quest chain is generally not effected by factors such as quest difficulty, optionals completed, or amount of times the quest is completed. That being said, yesterday I did a full run of the Attack on Stormreach chain for maybe the third or fourth time on my bard, and the end-of-chain reward loot list was absolutely atrocious. Not only did it not contain a single named item or mark, but the level of the loot it did contain was all lower than the loot presented at the end of the individual quests. I'm talking items ranging from +3 to +5 values, while all the individual quest rewards were +6 to +8. I can't think of a reason why this would happen. Every quest was done on at least normal, and even if you could ransack a reward list, I haven't finished the chain enough times for that to have been possible. Is it a bug, or is there a RNG factor that can make the loot all lower quality than it should be for it's level?

Just called bad luck.. end reward lists are a static table.. they CAN be ransacked. Just like a chest. But you would of gotten an announcement to that effect.

Sometimes that announcement get lost with other things that happen at the same time. I miss it all the time in the solo DD quest.

I ran a chrono last night and we had the optional chest and the main. So four in total. Can't remember what one was opened first. Think it was the main. Any way leader said it was to bad the chest was opened because he had a guild mate that could "bless the chests". First time I have ever heard this being said. Is there really any truth that you can bless chests?

It sucks, but it happens all the time. I also find that the harder the difficulty i do a quest, the crappier the loot for the most part.
the only thing that really affects the end rewards from a chain or any quest is the "end rewards based on class" box in your UI / gameplay panel.

Greater Dragonmark of finding is the only thing that can increase loot lvl for the whole party.
Yes, Dragonmark of finding.
No.
◦Benefit: Activate this ability to harness the bloodline of House Tharashk to cast Treasure Finding once per rest. Also allows you to use your Least and Lesser Marks of Finding an extra time per rest. Treasure Finding lets you target an unopened chest and twist fate for a chance at better rewards for the entire party. Chests can only be improved in this way one time, and there is a chance of failure based on your Charisma. (There is no special drawback on failure.) Some chests cannot be improved in this manner. This ability stacks with the store item Jewels of Fortune and the Bonus Loot events put on by the devs. It cannot raise the level of the chest above 23.
Note "chests" not end rewards.

Even that isn't a given...
None of my Alts get +x Full Plate Armor more often than my pure Rogues
But at least I have Rogues that my Casters can give all the Thieves' Tools to... :D

Not so. Jewels of Fortune can also increase the level of the loot for the entire party.
Or so I've been told anyway.

Jewels of fortune only increase the loot for one individual, not the full group.

You've been told wrong and should immediately shun the ones that did.

During the last +2 loot weekend I was pulling some very high level gear on some end reward quests. Sins of Attrition in particular was dropping lv 18 and 20 weapons and level 19 gear at much higher rates than I had ever seen. I was quite convinced that the loot bonus was definitely impacting that reward list but I was always under the impression that loot bonuses do not effect end rewards.

Well, I can tell you from a not reliable outside source that your name affects the loot tables for your characters. If you EVER get any bad loot for a endloot list, even one item that is subpar, you should delete that character forever or at least pay to have a name change & go wash your hands.... unless you are a half-orc, then go take a shower
