Do same stat bonuses stack from equipment?

If I've got bracer's that give +4 strength, and two rings that give +2 str each, then is my total str increased by 4, or 8? (AKA do equipment bonuses stack?)

I probably should have thought to ask this before getting to lvl 14 with multiple bonus equips. :-)

If it is the same type of bonus, it does not stack. I.e.- if you have a +2 and a +6 and they are both enhancement boni, only the highest (+6) will apply. If you have a +2 which is a Competence bonus and the +6 is an Enhancement bonus, they will stack.

You can test this by opening your character sheet, equipping and un-equipping an item.

(In your case, the highest is +4, so you are only getting +4 to STR)

generally speaking bonus that have the same name do not stack. If you look at your items they probably all say "enhancement bonus" which means they will not stack with each other.

it is possible to find strength items with different bonus names such as "exceptional" which will stack with what you have. These are usually higher level items though and may be harder to find.

They do not stack.

Unless one of them say "Exceptional STR" -- which at level 14 you are unlikely to have.

You are correct. Hezrou cookie (http://ddowiki.com/page/Hezrou_Gingerbread_Cookie) also gives profane bonus.

And the Titan's Grip glvoes have a clickie that gives a Psionic bonus, which stacks also.

Thanks all! It certainly explains why I wasn't doing as much damage as I thought that I should be doing. :-). Now to flesh out the equipment bonuses some more.
