Hey peeps.

I've done a Lord of the Blades life on my main, figured it would be pretty good if I had some decent gear for him. Which I didn't at the time, but out of all the divines I've tried that was my favorite.
So, I rolled another, gonna TR him a few times to get 36 points then gear him up.

I've always taken it for granted that if you want to do a Melee FVS, you take WF. Rolled mine a few days ago and it's currently level 18, the only benefit I can see from taking the feat line/enhancements is +3 to damage and +2 to hit with greatswords, for the price of having to heal a robot.

Seen a few builds on here about doing it on other races but rarely see them ingame, just wanted to get a general opinion on others? I haven't had much experience with different races, but wouldn't the dwarf with his greataxe enhancements be better? Healing a fleshy is alot easier too.
I have seen an Elven FVS dual wielding scimitars also, which is superior? O_o

Dwarven fvs are not proficient in greataxes.

Elven fvs have a higher feat and stat requirements (have to take twf chain, whereas thf is an option on wf. twf requires high dex). So elven often splashes two monk for more feats.

WF fvs is just great all around (except for shield capstone instead of cure or even searing light capstone) and the healing resistance is a very small issue on such a high sp class.

One of the other big benefits of lord of blades for melee is that the DR from adamantine body & enhancements will stack with the capstone, so you can get 15/adamantine DR without too much trouble - unlike 2wf FvS too you can also dump dex completely to focus on more STR & CON, mostly dump CHA to the bare minimum (12 for safety, maybe 14 if you're worried about disjunction) & if you arent using many (or any) spells with saves (with the exception of BB but even with low wis its effective) you can completely dump WIS too. You can also get the WF power attack enhancements for more dps.

Ah, right.

Didn't think of dwarven proficiency till you pointed it out, nor did I realize the DR stacked. Thanks alot. :)

So far, I have played:

WF- LOB-FVS (TR'd once)

Elf-Undying Court (Not TR'd yet-sitting at 20)

Human -LongSword (TR'd once)

And 3 lower levels/multi-class etc.

Without a doubt, my style prefers the WF for combat/healing, the Elf for "generalist" and the Human for CC/Healing.

I have a good time playing all of them.

Regs,

Don't forget that with half-elf you can take the fighter dilly to get martial weapon prof. so you are not locked in to just the one weapon type dictacted by Faith. The enhancements for it are underwhelming, but I did enjoy playing that combo.
