Intermittent disconnection ...

Anyone else seeing this? Roughly every 20 minutes, my character freezes in place for about a minute or two, just long enough for the connection to break, and then I'm instantly reconnected. It's been happening all day today (2011-04-22).

It's not my Internet connection because I can access other sites during these outages. I'm inclined to think Turbine issue because when I'm disconnected like this, www.ddo.com is also down.

It has been a very frustrating afternoon.

A guildy did this a couple of times tonight, but I haven't seen any issues. One had to run to her basement though during a tornado warning, so maybe the server you're on is located near enough to have been effected by that storm.

No issues at all for our group today. It's likely your ISP or your modem temporarily dropping the connection.

Just because you can browse pages, doesn't mean you had an internet connection 100% of the time.

Have you tried turning the power off to your modem for a couple of minutes? That helps me sometimes as it helps clear up the connection.

Actually, the games been running a bit weird for me too. Vendor lag and in one case left the guild ship to sell some stuff, got to house D brokers, opened a sell window and then a loading screen pops up that takes me back to the guild ship, but no crew/shrines. Just strange.

The issue was in house. My roomie moved his room furniture around, found the cat 5 wouldn't reach his computer, so he set up his old router as a switch to allow him to put a second cat 5 to extend his reach. Of course, that router had the same IP as my router, and it would force mine to reset all the time due to the IP conflict. Does he tell me? Of course not.

I'd check www.ddo.com, then other sites, and by the time I'd get to the other sites, the router would be reset.
