As of Update 9 you won't be able to get Shroud of the Lich without 18 levels of Wizard. 12 levels of Wizard will be Shroud of the Vampire.

Edit: That might be interesting as Shroud of the Vampire should generate 25% less threat from spells and attacks. Wonder how that might effect archer aggro...

Uhm...

Not trolling here. Really. But I am wondering WHY MONK???

(1) It gets you a whopping +2 to AC. Wind Stance does NOT add to archery speed. Yeah, you gain two feats, but you have to give one back for Zen Archery, which is largely wasted.

(2) If it's martial feats you're after, Ranger 2 / Fighter 6 / Wizard 12 gives you a LOT more return on investment. And you can dump Wis, raise your Dex, and take Kensai I on top of Pale Master 2.

The reason I say this is that your 12 Wizard levels aren't going to end up being much use for offensive casting. You're going to need to be a pretty hot archer to compensate. I say this from experience -- I am playing a 2 Rogue / 6 Fighter / 12 Wizard intimitank Pale Master, and I also have a 2 Ranger / 6 Fighter / 12 Cleric (Radiant Servant 2 / Kensai 1 / Arcane Archer) I'm leveling up.

Are you sure about this? I thought Wind stance did add to both ranged & melee speed; but the problem is it's an enhancement bonus so it doesn't stack with Haste, which this build will be able to cast. And the double-strike bonus is definitely melee-only, as are monk strikes & finishers. So I agree that monk stances add very little to this build. Two extra feats & Evasion are nice, but by dumping DEX and not taking Insightful Reflexes, the OP has gimped their Reflex save; he also can't take Imp Prec Shot (reqs. base DEX 19).

OP: I think you would be better off refocusing your build on archery; as Entelech says, your offensive spells will be...unimpressive, but you might make a decent archer / buffer. Here's a rgr 6 / wiz 12 / ftr 2 AA build I posted for someone else; it's an Illusion Archmage for cheap Blur & Displacement, but could be switched to Pale Master by rejiggering the feats & enhs. [Transmutation for cheap Haste is another option.] You could also substitute a monk 2 splash instead of ftr, though you'd have to tweak the feats.
