It's an "OK" build for traps but... Do you really need all that just to open some traps?

My 16 assassin could easily handle inspired quarter (level 18 quests) traps on hard (maybe elite, I don't remember) and she has literally no trap enhancements/feats. Just max ranks and +15 items. I do have high int though, I like my skill points.

Oh and, you might want to look at drow, with 28 points you get 14/16/14/16/8/10, and drows get +2 to spot, search and will save as a racial bonus to offset the lower WIS. And you get higher int which helps with assassinate if you at some point switch to assassin. Drow spell resistance helps tons on the crappy will saves, and I'd say it more than compensates for 10 less hp (no Toughness III enhancement with drow). You also get rapier enhancements, which really help on TWF rogues, since they're not a full BAB class.

SF: Search is not necessary.

OTWF is only gong to give you a bonus if you dual wield Rapiers.

theres really no reason to build a melee mechanic imo. you get all the repeater benefits for free and the build is dex based anyway.

there are very few end game traps that people are concerned about. A well built, geared and played assassin rogue has no trouble with those traps.

the traps in this game are really just for flavor and aren't actually a meaningful gameplay mechanic

at higher levels the large hp pools mean traps most traps can just be run through and healed on the other side

Yeah, I mostly see traps as exp enhancers. Some of them _can_ be nasty on elite, though. :P

thanks for the advice guys, as you can probably tell, i'm not very good at building.

i only tried doing it myself this time cuase i literally spent 2 hours sifting through the forums looking for a 28 point, no tome, F2P rogue build and couldnt find a good one. (that i liked in any case. there were some good ones, but not wat i was looking for)

Probably not a character I'd take into epics often, but much higher damage with Repeaters and minor difference in Trap skills.

Are you going Mechanic to use repeaters or just for the bonus to trap skills? If it's the former, than you should look into loading up on ranged feats to boost your ranged DPS (though that will hurt your melee DPS); if it's the latter, most will tell you it's unnecessary and a properly geared & buffed Assassin with INT 8 can still hit every trap. Since the rogue PrEs have no feat pre-reqs, it's pretty easy to swap between them; you just reset your enhs when you want to respec.

EDIT: also most will tell you not to go Finesse-based TWF; I say if you do want it, go with a race with DEX bonuses (i.e., halfling, elf, drow).
