View Full Version : Which server to chose if you're european and want to do endgame contend

So.. A friend and I have been playing on Orien for about 2 years.
We would love to do more epic raids and endgame quests.. And this is where it gets frustrating..
Only people/guilds that seem to be running these things are doing so at US eastern times.
In fact it's getting frustrating enough for us to consider changing server.
So which server would be a good choice for europeans if we were to change?
Mind that both of us play the game for fun and a challenge, we do not wish to be part of any elitist crew.. :)

Actually I wouldn't mind if anyone could point me in the direction of Orien guilds that would fix this problem :)

Well I'd aim for the server that doesn't charge VAT for your TP purchases ... but alas that's a secret only server.
But seriously try the guilds section for your specific server, Orien, you might not be able to post [if free] but should have in game contact details you can find an officer by.

That would be an awesome server indeed..
I'm premium, but haven't found any guild that fit the describtion.. Might have overlooked someone though..
I like "Intel Rq'd" policy and I've met some nice people from it, but they still run the quests/raids when it's 2-3 am here :/

Still Thelanis could be the right choice for your goal.:)

I play on Argonnessen and allthough it's a mainly US server, there are some guilds (and guildless players) from europe over here. I'm not interested in Epic questing and just starting to get into raiding, but i regularly see LFM's for endgame and epics at european primetime.
Overall i don't have any problem finding groups during european primetime. European players and US players mend well together at GMT time and EST time (being our evenings and their afternoons).
Ghallanda is the server where all the Codemasters characters were transfered to after the merge. Also many codemaster players started new chars on Thelanis before the merge thinking/hoping that would become the new home for their CM-characters.
I would suggest to start some new chars on afore mentioned servers just to check the LFM's at primetime. Note that there are more groups (guilds) running contest then you see on the LFM board. But i guess that would be the same on Orien :)

I'd do some scouting, roll a character with your friend on each server and earn some quick favour on the side. Settle on a server you like.
P.S. Cannith as a "new" server has its fair share of Eubies. Don't know how it compares with Orien.

Phoenix Knights is an end game focused EU guild on Orien. We typically run raids from 6pm GMT every day. Our leader actually just opened recruitment again as well, look for the thread in the Orien guilds section. If PK isn't your cup of tea, then I think Crusaders of Justice is also mainly european, and they are definitely worth checking out as well.

Khyber is an older server and has a more diverse player base. There are also many europeans playing on Khyber in fact several are in our guild Legends.

Try out Thelanis, there are a lot of EU based guilds here, several of them do mainly do end game content.

You did beat me to this. :) I wrote almost the same thing and then I scrolled down to find out that it was already said.
OP, I am not sure what you mean by elitist crew.
CoJ has a regular (not daily) raid schedule and friendly bunch of guild members.
We are open to casual gamers, and more end game focused ones as well.
Also, I didn't find it too difficult to find non-guild pugs.

I knew CoJ was mostly european, but back when I asked someone in game about the guild it seemed more focused on low-level contend?
Regarding the elitist comment - let's just say i had bad experiences in the past with people who judge before they see what you can do.. Even had one recently due to my fvs being wf.. Had a guy join our epic group for last stand who started to lecture me on my role as healer even before we entered -__-
Regarding the pugs.. Tried joining the one e-chrono I saw.. noone knew what to do and it failed at the bank.. haven't seen a new one up in months.

I have no idea how I missed you guys being an option.. Ran with a lot of you from time to time and even got good advice from Preto, i think :)
Did start up a new toon on ghallanda to check it out too.. Could never leave my other toons for good tho.

Not quite. The core of our guild consists of veteran players with several capped characters.
The regular weekly raids are Shroud, and two of: HoX, Reaver, VoD, VoN, DQ; on top of this, there are more Guild runs for Epics and ToD. (These are on times where I cannot participate).
We do have a number of TRing characters, which is where the misconception of us being low-level centered might come from.

Think it's more because I couldn't find any info regarding epics/raids on your homepage :)
How come you can't participate in ToD and epics? A time thing?
Doubt I'll leave my 9 toons in the orien dust for long.. Worked to **** hard for my loot :D

I'm sure Ranit will be excited to learn he moved to Europe.
;)
On a serious note, Thelanis does have a health population of EU Powergamers/Raiders.

Actually played on Thelanis for a while but had odd lagspikes all the time.. Might have changed though, haven't played there for a while.

Yeah - my prime times are during the week, but those are on weekends.
The raid calendar might only be visible for members or logged in guildportal users.
