I have a level 10 Paladin that is currently a bank toon that I would like to get to 20 and TR him. However, he is the only gimp build I have left from when I first started playing.

He was great up until mid level when I found out he was not stellar. I was planning on greater LRing him into a 32 point build and ungimping him. He has eaten tomes etc. so I am hesitent to just delete him.

I have found that playing a paladin was/is clicky intensive, meaning clicking on abilities, buffs every few minutes to keep up your dps. I don't mind this but realize I have yet to figure out a build for my play style.

I am a pretty experienced player, I am just looking for some -->solid<-- paladin builds for ideas. Can any paladin experts provide a little help?

Suggest some builds perhaps....maybe link to them. I thought that was clear in the OP...guess not.

No not search for me....I am not sure what the difference between a good paladin build is and a bad one.

well, a good paladin build is

str based with enough cha to have at least divine might 3 (e.g. 18 cha including tomes).
smites and divine sacrifice favour twf. but since twf is expensive statwise some paladins go the thf route.
you need con for hp.
dump wisdom

1. stay pure
2. be kotc for dps
3. use ur clickies
4. ?
5. profit

So I understand this right...to qualify its base charisma, not including gear...so for twf you would need starting 15 dex (17 w/ +2 tome) and for devine might you need 16 starting charisma (18 w/ +2 tome. Strength is needed for to-hit and damage. So basically most every stat is important and you dump your spell casting stat (wisdom).

Hmmm....I think I will need to take a few days to look through all of this to make sure I don't screw it up.

yeah, paladin is a pain as its so stat starved.

in order of importance

str (levelups here. if you can't hit anything why build a pala anyway?)
cha (divine might is just that good. bonus to loh and smite to-hit)
con (well, hitpoints)
dex (twf for kotc and ac for dos)

int is dumpstat unless you need combat expertise.
wisdom is your only true dumpstat.
you can cast spells with using items to get wisdom to 14.
few skillpoints are a crux, really. umd and balance top prio if you don't need intimi.

feats:
toughness
3x twf (if you go that route)
power attack
khopesh (if you go that route)
extend (makes buffing less tedious)
maximize (if you go the self healing route. e.g. human)
