So I am veteran and have 32pt build and was loving my cleric so i thought id make something a little more melee. So I checked out a few Paladin builds and started one. I shelved him after getting him some gear and tomes because i started playing my pale master.
Now i look at him and build in the forums and see that I may have screwed myself with the 14 CHA. Can someone let me know if DM4 is still a viable option with a +6 CHA item? or should i reroll him at 17 CHA and find a +3 tome later on?
Thanks in advance!
As of Right now he is:
DankTyranus
Lawful Good Human Paladin 4
Str: 18 (+1 levelup = 19)
Dex: 8
Con: 15
Int: 8
Wis: 10 (+1 tome = 11)
Cha: 14 (+1 tome = 15)
Feats:
1: Toughness
1: Two-handed fighting
3: Power Attack

My only quibble with Junts's build is I would push back Extend to bump up the DPS feats (ITHF, IC, GTWF). BTW, that build predates Intimidate becoming a paladin skill; now that it is one, I would say Intim is more useful than Balance. I would also take a +1 CHA tome ASAP to even out CHA and open up DM III (tho admittedly not until lvl 15).

Are the THF feats really worth taking... On a fighter, sure, they have some feats to spend, but do you really get the value from them as a Pally.
That's what I'm working through on my own THF Pally right now. Could trade them out for Stunning Blow, Skill UMD and an extra Toughness without effecting my primary damage.
Looking for input.

I think THF feats are definitely worth taking as a paladin. You will never have enough stunning blow DC for it to work well in epics and anything else dies so fast why bother. extra toughness? a feat for only 20 hp? meh.
But the THF feats make your KOTC bonuses hit multiple mobs. worth it in my book.
My only problem with building my new 36pt WF paladin is wondering if i want to do
18-8-18-8-6-14 or 18-8-14-8-6-16 or 18-8-16-8-7-15
The THF feats are a no brainer for me.

I haven't crunched the DPS numbers myself, but my impression is that unless you're a constant twitcher, the THF feats (finally!) provide enough DPS to be worth taking. If this was a pure pally tank build, things become a lot trickier (how many DPS feats do you sacrifice for tanking feats like CE or the improved-for-U9 shield feats?); but on a THF DPSadin there's little incentive to skipping them IMHO.

Good to know, I plan on being the more DPSadin myself. You still think that it is better to do UMD and Intimidate? At least until i get a + int tome for more skill points...

When it comes to skills, it depends on your priorities. You don't have to have Intim on a pure DPSadin, but I'd rather have the option of doing a lil' Intimitanking, esp. with the U9 changes to Intim & threat generation and Divine Righteousness only costing 1 AP. Never know when you need to pull mobs off the party casters, right? ;) Likewise UMD: I love it, but it takes a while to pay off, esp. as a cross-class skill; it's something where you're either in it for the long haul or you skip it entirely.

Ok another question based on this guy. I am going THF now and i heard that the holy weapon is a greatsword and isnt that wonderful to have, so I still need to craft a falchion?
If i am planning to TR him into a TWF pally, then should i TR him into a Drow? (and will i get a 30pt drow on the 1st TR then?)
Thanks!

I believe the usual advice is: use Holy Sword greatsword (or whatever's the best 2H weap you have) while you craft your GS falchion(s); then use your GS falchion as you hunt for an epic Sword of Shadow (http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Sword_of_Shadow).
If i am planning to TR him into a TWF pally, then should i TR him into a Drow? (and will i get a 30pt drow on the 1st TR then?)I don't know if you should TR him into a drow, but yes you would be a 30-pt drow when you TRed.

Well my Spliff Lord characters are:
Dankvader 15 assassin halfing rogue (28pt build) - Most likely TRing once he hits 20
Dankrevan 18 healing human cleric (32) - Planned to stay 20 and Farm
Dankmaul 12 pale master human wizard (32) - Probably going to TR wiz route
Dankmalak 5 THF human paladin (32) - Thought about TRing into TWF (drow?)
I already bought the 2 hearts i need on a 50% off sale, and now just need to level and plan out next lives. But if you think keeping a 32build paladin THF at 20 is smarter, im all ears. I havent bought any +2 INT tomes for him so it is still 8 and he will be skill point starved for the most part. UMD is my primary focus with balance as second right now.
Any advice on the whole TRing aspect of any of my characters would be appreciated!

im trying something almost identical to this, but ive missed of extend and took ITHF instead, which in my opinion is a lot better, im seeing the glancings do some nice damage !
one thing i would recommend is maybe aim for hunter of the dead at low levels, esp if youre farming deleras for xp like i have been !
