Just in case this wasn't intentional.

It would appear that a highly sought after, rare, end chest reward (which chain I forget) can be crafted.

That reward is the Docent of Blood, a +2 Item that provides 10% increased healing in exchange for a 10% reduction in fortification.

Now, my skill isn't terribly high (17 Arcane, 5 Divine, 8 Enchant) and I don't know at what skill level I could have made the base shard; but before I was finished, I ended up with a

+1 Blood Docent of lesser Hammer Block - ML1

It is called a Blood Docent, instead of Docent of Blood; but it provides 10% healing boost, in exchange for 10% reduced fort.

That's nifty, though I'm not sure I know anyone who really uses the Docent of Blood.

The Blood Crypt, NecroI.

It's not highly sought after. It's a decent docent, but useless once you get Docent of Defiance/Dragontouched.

Having it as a craftable enchantment made this meh item into a meh item. Same with vampiric as a craftable enchantment: made Death's Touch from a meh item into a meh item.

yep now you can trade grinding for one ultra rare item in one quest , for grinding all over the place to level crafting and make something equivalent. choices!

this is an example of what spawned the pay2win thread that's exploded. ultimately it becomes a perspective issue.
either you think one should never be able to make anything comparable or better to some specific named items, or you think a grind that might make those effects more accessible is meritorious enough. please direct the love/hate on the issue to that thread.

Ok, maybe it isn't sought after (tm); but when it looked it up, I found several threads from people wanting to buy it - or lamenting on their lack of luck pulling one.

I thought "healing amp" gear was somewhat rare ...

Be that as it may, I made this with less than an hour invested in crafting; and thought it was worth mentioning

The ML1 and lesser hammer block is more intriguing to me. That's pretty handy twinkage.

Wrong. It's a very highly sought after item that has great benefits at low levels.

Yeah, consider a blood docent of invulnerability. On balance, I'd say this must be the best idea for a docent to level with for any WF except arcane and barbarians (barbarians might prefer blood docent of heavy fortification/guard). I wish I'd had a blood docent of invulnerability for my WF FvS while leveling, that would have been sweet! (not hugely better than my bladesmarked docent, but a bit).

I also get the feeling that the docent of blood doesn't give 10% healing amp but instead a 10% reduction on a WF's healing penalty which is much better. If this is the case a WF might like to include blood docent of <insert something useful here> into end game equipment assuming 10/20/30 healing amp is available elsewhere. Would need clarification on this though.

It is a highly sought after and hugely useful docent for any WF tank who understands healing amp.

I have pretty much every useful docent in the game - evne all the epic ones on my WF barb. (cept red scale, tho even that I wouldn't wear over blood in some cases)

What docent do I almots always wear?

The ml2 one.

Docent of defiance? No. Not unless im being purely reconstructed, which is extremely rare for how I play. And its a terrible docent to wear in general questing, the slowdown is horrible. Really only good for tanking VoD, something I pretty much never run anymore.

Crafting kinda partially destroys the value of being lucky enough to find one. Tho they were never that hard to get so doesn't really matter.

And yes - it is -10% WF healing penalty, rather then +10% amp, which would be far less useful.

Check my WF barb guide for more info on the item and healing amp numbers.
