I have this here barb, he's got a metric ton of hp and hits like a truck but... well I'm finding it a bit boring. (and the bitterness of having a feat that literally does nothing for me is annoying CLEAVE FTL) Hes a Barb to Barb Warforged TR and while I enjoy being the "main tank" in just about every quest i run, I'm just tired of the lack of clickies. Rage up, Frenzy up, hold mouse button, Stunning Blow when the target isnt immune, profit. The death of twitch fighting makes me feel like I may as well just enable auto-attack and go afk for the duration of half the boss fights.

I've been thinking that the next life will be something different. Something with at least a little more interaction. But I cant decide on what that should be, and what would take most advantage of the great gear that this guy has already collected. (perfect Dragon Touched docent, Min2 GAxe, shocking burst-icy burst-+10 stun maul, trip-positive maul, Lit2 goggles, conc-op cape, madstoneboots, epic spec gloves, and the TOD sets: shintao, berserker, ravager, dragon knight, and kensai. He's also just a shard away from an Esos, although that doesn't really mean ill have it any time soon.

What are some suggestions for the 3rd life? Something that can still wreck house with my gear and ideally take advantage of my past life. I guess fighter makes sense, using boosts wisely would require more attention, and more room for feats like imp.trip and heck, even a body feat just for the sake of looking less freggin stupid. Or paladin, smites and the likes could be cool but i duno ive never played a paladin.

I have +2s for every stat and a +3 cha tome banked. Also is 2 runs from a 40th shroud, would likely take the +3 tome.

Fighters and Pallys are pretty fun to play. Especially if you're used to be being the main tank. Pally's make exceptional Hate-Tanks. Look at Ultimega's THF Pally Build for ideas. Should be good for ya :)

if you want clickies - try a paladin, alot of clicking and sick dps.

Gotta concur on Pally, especially if you're so close on an eSoS. You'll be able to put silver in it then with pally capstone have it break DR permanently (except on Lailat). Not to mention if you stay WF, LoH isn't reduced on a WF like other healing spells.

Rouge? Somewhat of a melee class and you get alot of clickies. Your past life feats could help with durability, not to mention you will be sought after in many groups. Yes it is straying a bit far from tanking, but you could instead multiclass into it too in conjuction with a more durable class.

My first life was pure barb, I actually went with the 'Genghis Khan' build next life. Essentially he is a barb that sings and is alot more self sufficient (UMD cure wands).

Have a look, see what you think.

3rd life I went with a pure, strength based, dark monk. Still high hp, high dps, still runs hella fast, but can abundant step, run on water, shadow fade, cool stuff that meant he was still at core a melee like first life, but alot more difference to keep it interesting. Consider the Metaru build, mine is very similar.

If you plan on TRing again after, I'd go the monk first. The past life feat is so much more useful :)

Have fun!

Try a WF FvS Lord of Blades. You already have the SoS it appears. Just wait on making it epic till you've TR'd and hit 20 again.

You'll have more buttons to hit than ever before.

Definetly a WF FvS, you won't have to discard your DT-docent. You gain LOADS of clickies (called spells :P). and if you build it right, with the right incite items (you'll probably have) and spells you can still hate/tank might you get overcumbered with sad nostalgic feelings wanting to return to the tanking barb. I know a pretty decent WF FvS on Thelanis who will outtank most barbs.

You'll be a pretty versitile character imo.

Fighter 12 / Barb 8.

Enough INT that with tomes you can get CE and Improved Trip. Also take SF:Intim and be a tactical DPS controller.

Trip, Stun, Haste-Boost, Kensai STR, Frenzy, Rage. And your PL will also be very beneficial if you take the active Babr past live feat.

--> Profit.

Some good ideas, thanks, ill have to re-download the character planner and punch some of those in to see how they look.

One question, If i were to go Paladin would i be better off building a cheap-o Greensteel Tier 2 Great Sword so that I have something to use while leveling that benefits the Blade enhancements, or should i just ignore those and use my Mineral2 Axe? Also, how would i fit in a +6 cha item? my cloak is my 45 hp GS, my rings are my tod sets, the only slot i have left that's easy to drop seems to be bracers (using demon consorts for time being) but I don't think i've ever seen +6 charisma on bracers before.

but maybe... think i should shy away from builds that are reliant on Esos (this life alone has more then 40 evon6 completions without pulling shard, and noone ever puts them up for roll in my experiences) as it could very likely take many months more to finish it.

I'm also reluctant to model any build that's based on having the currently bugged out barbarian-rage-bonus-pastlife. I intend the next life to be this toons last life.

I have to echo the suggestion of the WF FvS lord of blades. I've seen them do amazing things and they look like a blast to play. If I didn't have severe altitis I would be rollling one up right now.

Since you already have the gear... that would be my choice.

FVS Lord of blades looks cool and im betting its a bad-ass solo build but.. I suspect that there's a large chunk of the time that he would be expected to be healer (rightfully so perhaps) and I simply do not have the aptitude to pull that job off. That and by the looks of enhancements, they seem to do about half the damage of the other options people have tossed up.

Gonna suggest pali they do good damage, u have to mash buttons, u can heal, an resist urself. :)

Does this layout look correct? stats based on the fact that i have a +3 int and +3 cha tome, so i made those stats odd. I would swap out the body feat for Toughness likely around mid level (or maybe stunning blow? do pallys get enough DC to make SB worth while?) Would i be better off with Extend in place of my past life feat? or keep the past life and extend in place of body/toughness/stunning blow ?

For enhancements, when i read about Divine Sacrifice it "seems" that rank 1 is a much more efficient boost than 2 and 3 (think i read that rank 1 equals about 100 damage per minute while rank 2 is only a 40 more) so would it be more efficient in general to only get divine sacrifice rank 1 and than invest points elsewhere? (such as toughness if i take the feat, or great weapon aptitude or whatever else is recommended)

Also what about the leveling up weapon that i asked about before? Should i try to craft a new greensteel weapon (greatsword) or just use my current mineral2Great axe despite my Lord of Blades investments? and is there a greatsword awesome equivalent to the Carnifex for lowbie levels?

Just trying to get it as perfectly set up as possible, being the 3rd life its going to be a looonngg haul in leveling for me.
