What is best use for Blade of Fury?

My main is Dex-specced AA 18 who either uses bow, or TWF. My second is Virtuoso 11. He has TWF, but usually melees with sword & board (he has a very good board :)) Last week I started a sorcerer/paladin. He is 2/2 now, and will progress as sorc from now on. Currently he fight (two-handed) more than casts spells, but that will change.

Well, yesterday I bought a Blade of Fury because someone offered it fairly cheaply. Put it into bank for when my sorc/paladin reaches level 10. But now I wonder -- how much melee is Pal 2/Sorc 8 going to do? Would it be more useful for my bard? (Blade of Fury is BtC on equip.) Alternatively, since upgrading Blade of Fury unbinds it, perhaps my bard should have it for a few months, then when paladin/sorc reaches level 12 upgrade it to Crippling and pass it to him?

make it dual vampiric/crippling/maiming fury shortswords and you have a poor mans wounding of puncturing... i really do not think the fury blades are rare... have sold nearly a dozen myself. easy peezy to ransack that chest. grab a rogue and pew pew pew the 4-5 guys who bar the way to the chest :D

Which chest? I thought Blade of Fury comes from Eyes of Stone end chest?

I did that quest twice and got Rocksplitter both times.

Any wounding/puncturing weapon does more DPS than a greensteel Min 2 weapon, as long as the mob is vulnerable to Con damage and doesn't have DR you need to bypass. Since you're a sorc, hitting a mob a few times and then Finger of Death/Wail of the Banshee will be a good combo since those spells require the mob to make a FORT save, which goes down when their Con goes down.

But, since you'll be mostly a Sorc, your To Hit will be very low, and at high level, when you want to use FoD/WoB, you won't hit often. So for that character, I'd say its not too useful. For a melee character, it is very good DPS so long as the monster doesn't have DR which requires Min 2 or Metalline/PG or other materials to bypass.

My ranger already has WoP rapier and a secondary CON-draining weapon (wounding sickle of slowburst), so she does not need Sword of Fury. Sounds like the best use is to give it to the bard, and upgrade it to two shortswords when he is level 12. By the time pal/sorc is level 10 I am sure I will have a wounding weapon for him. That sickle, if nothing else.

Blade of Fury + Malleable weapon + TWO Marks

For example:

Blade of Fury + Gnollish War bow + Mark of Sheshka + Mark of Rhesh Turakbar => two Crippling Fury shortswords

Blade of Fury is the only item you can do it with

I did that quest twice and got Rocksplitter both times.

it drops in the chest in the coin lords chamber passges along with gorgon armor/docent and the bloody cleaver. of these the fury blade drops the most often in my experience (i would say twice as often as all the others combined).
talk to tollis --> skip fight and jump into palace --> talk to the steward -->enter coinlord chamber area and run up the steps on the left to skip fighting the monsters on the ground lvl --> head str down the passage into the open room. will have 4-5 guys to kill inside and may be an archer or 2 outside. the door to the passage with chest is on the right wall of room as you enter. usually a 60-90 sec run on my caster depending on loading time when casting charms all the way :D

Give it to one character, and then when you outgrow it, upgrade it, and sell the unbound, upgraded version. People will pay a ton for them, either because they're too lazy to farm the marks, or because they just don't have the second pack.

all recipes can be seen my looking into the cauldron itself. if you have a particular weapon/mark, then drop it into the crafting window and it show all the stuff you can do with it along with the missing components
