Two classic D&D monster mascots face off!
...Coyle? Pff, I don't know why anyone was worried about that match. I mean all I had to do was hit him over the head, am I right?
I knew I’d win, it has been foretold already.

The Red Dragon has my vote; she is a nightmare on Epic.
Edit: Nice reference to Coyle's demise btw. :P

Delirium is one of the best quest in the game :) Very funny :)

I am sorry, but VoN is close to my heart. Out of all the adventure packs, it has proven to be my personal favorites. One of the first I ever bought, and has certain sentimental values as a result. ^.^
Fun factor? Check. Epic Fun Factor? Check.
Raid not a pain in the butt to flag? Yep. Fun both at level and on Epic? Covered. Good loot? Oh yeah.
Storyline and Presentation to boot? Ooh plot twist, the big bad isn't trying to destroy the world but simply research a way to try and save it?
I'll always vote for Velah. I love that dragon. I feel melancholy every time we kill her just because she was doing her job.
Go Velah numba one! *_*

Knizzlenak for president!

Velah, the first Dragon in DDO. The first raid my bro and I got to join. And the first time we turned to each other and said "HOLY ****! THIS LOOKS AWESOME!" as we stepped up and saw her for the first time! (Taking screen shots the entire time)
The Red Dragon shall always be more impressive than a multi-eyed wannabe star that couldn't make it in Hollywood after leaving DnD to play in Big Trouble in Little China and came back begging to be part of the game.

I hope Knizzleknack wins honestly...
Honestly, which is scarier? Epic Dragon or Epic Beholder?

Epic Dragons eat Epic Beholders like pieces of popcorn. ;)

I find it hard to be partial since I've not faced either of these yet (never even heard of the beholder). But, I guess, since I haven't heard of it, that tells you how good the other one must be...

Knizzlenak would have stood a chance in the days before F2P, back when beholders had the good sense to spam Disintegrate and Finger of Death. Now, they are as but hollow shells, and not the kind that explode when you hit them. Velah certainly has the means to fight tooth and nail, but on this particular contest, she doesn't even need to break a sweat.
Note to self: Find out whether dragons sweat. They can't be completely cold-blooded in the usual sense, what with the production of potentially-temperature-regulating fire in their bellies...

If Velah is a nightmare, try to take a look at her in chronoscope... at the end she is not so ugly ;)
Ps. But I didn't understand something about that dialogue... Is Cydonie a dragon too?

Yes, that's what I understood from the dialogues.

Is Cydonie a dragon too?
Yes she is. Most, if not all Argonnessen agents are... Argonnessen is mostly off limits to "lesser races" (non-dragons)

Yes the behoder back in the day could have set patiently at quest entrance casting Disintigrate while the dragon waited hopelessly behind his little barrier getting owned. Remember running from the beholders in Von 2 & 3 has they cast through doors, walls, caves. My money would be on the beholder then.
I agree that now Velah would have her way with the eye tyrant, if he could take down those pillars with his bite damage.

Velah. First Dragon, Red, First Raid, and... it's Velah, I have a soft spot for Velah, even if she'll never cough up those damned boots for me.

You're an awesome Beholder, but not much tops Velah.
And yes, Cydonie is a blue dragon, and formerly one of Velah's protogées. You can read part of her and Velah's backstory here (http://ddowiki.com/page/Module_4.0:_Reaver%27s_Bane).
Also, Velah shows that alignment is fluid in Eberron. While a red dragon, normally always chaotic evil in other settings, she was working toward saving the world. She just did not care much for the mortal world, only her own.

A mad beholder with a puzzle fetish decides to take on a red dragon, after wickedly burning Coyle?
Yeah, he definitely gets my vote. Go on, play Delerium again and tell me you don't love this guy.

Poor beholder. He's at the end of a joyous bit of quest design. Delirium is funny and clever. But the dragon! Who can forget that first time in the vault as she rises up, with the music. I made a bard because of her. I still use it to do the same thing, and it is still sometimes challenging and fun. Very male voice, but I suppose gender is different for lizards.
Loyalty says Velah. If Turbine still had it so you can be shot by beholder spells across the map, in another instance on another server and still die from them spamming their disinigrate and death spells then yea, I'd be down. Since they don't anymore, Velah my very first raid with raid loot gets my vote. Too bad VoN wasn't the first raid in the game...only the third... (Irestone, Tempest Spine)

It's a losing battle, but Knizzlenak makes me smile in a way Velah never does.

I have not yet had the honor of going through the Vault arch yet, so I do not know first-hand of Velah's might and presence. I have fought dragons before, however, (go Mired in Kobolds!) and do have a healthy respect for their strength, power, and having a good cleric at your back when tanking.
That being said, to me, Knizzlenak wins hands down. I know he's going to lose in a popularity contest with dragons; there are just way too many fanboys/girls that think dragons are the end-all, beat-all of all monsters. But I just love him, his personality, how mean he can get when he is fighting - and that you can distract him by setting up a puzzle. The beholder can kick back even in the middle of battle, relax a little, and have some fun solving a puzzle. And his comments are always amusing and laugh-worthy. And that's what a game is all about, having fun and enjoying yourself.
