Well, I'm sure it is fairly obvious, but they have merged the forums for some reason. I have two theories behind it:
1.) They did it so that people won't make the same class again and again, and see the either multi-classing opportunities, or they wanted to give them a variety to look at on what might be interesting as opposed to a barbarian forum, where all the builds are basically the same. (I love the barbarian, don't get me wrong. But honestly, unless you go FB, most people don't like you. Waiting for the othe PrE's, to give it a little more flavor)
2.) The Devs wanted to become amused by all the calamity, involving Fighter Vs. Barbarian, Cleric vs. FvS, Wizard vs. Sorc. Things like that, because there are bound to be more arguments since the classes of the same variety can't but help to look at each other.
I may be right in one of them, both of them, or none of them. That is just my own personal opinion to hopefully shed some light.

Lots of theories and threads about it.
My faves are:
That the prefix system was an addon for vbulletin just like the rep system, and maybe just as useful.
And that google recently changed the way they rank sites, giving more power to vertical sites and prompting a witchhunt of the low traffic pages.

my benefit of the doubt claim is that it was a forum speed & stability move.

It's a brainfart they don't want to fix regardless of how many people it ****es off.

Not everyone might get the reference, but this smells of Flagship Studios way of managing forums (and the game). I know, some ex-employees got hired but Turbine, though not sure in which department. Could be not forum management but design (as Inspired Quarter and Jeet's Mind in particular have that Hellgate: London vibe).

Fix it? They just DID fix it. I don't want them to fix it again, I want them to give us back the broken forums....

Hint: Pick your favorite weapon and look at the damage notation.
Welcome back. ;)

The amount of data has not changed... although I do not know if the achieving process entails both date and shear number of thread within such.
The way you normally speed up filing systems in general is by breaking things ups my real suspicion is that since they're adding the international forums they needed the subs.
