I have 2 daughters, aged 9 and 11 who play DDO. Their computers are in the same room as mine and they're only allowed online when a parent is online.

Until now they've always run with a parent, but it's frustrating someimes b/c we like different things about DDO. They like running around the marketplace, ice skating, playing on the airship, changing clothes, exploring quests, and *especially* breaking boxes. Whereas I like XP and loot. :)

We have fun as a family to a point, but I think our kids would have more fun if they could run with other kids. Anyone out there have kids of a similar age who might be interested in setting up "play dates"?

Man how things have changed just over the past few years....Virtual Play dates. I love it!!!! :)

Look up the guild Cradle of Life (on Thelanis, of course). I think it's mostly made up of parents and children and generally doesn't pug. They've got a website at http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=290649&TabID=2437420.

You realize there are two bars in the Market place that Don't check Id's.

Heya,

CoL would be happy to have you. We are cautious with recruiting as we do have parents and kids in our guild. We usually ask new people to check out our guild site and contact one of our officers to run a few quests with. (link to our guild site ) (http://cradleoflife.guildportal.com)

If you have any questions at all, feel free to PM me or ask any CoL member online, they can sent you to someone who can answer!

I have talked to someone else about this as well. It would be cool to have a guild for kids, but not being able to 'really' know who was joining, I would be worried that it would give a false sense of security.

My son is 13 and we have the same problem.

I can get him to run one mission and that pretty much wears him out. He wont n/h/e anything. He prefers things like starting hide and seek games in the market or posting questions like, "Can a matchbox?" in general chat. Also he was really pleased when he had a bunch of 'old dudes' talking in general chat about Pokemon during the Crystal Cove event.

I obviously don't know how to enjoy the game because I was grinding for dragonshards.

Maybe the best approach would be to set up a static group with kids from people you 'really' know. If you like that idea, let me know and I will see if the boy is interested and I may have a friend who might be interested in having his kids join as well.

My four year old girl won't be rolling her first toon for at LEAST a couple more months, but I love this idea, and wish you lots of success. Go blaze a trail for the rest of us! :)
