oh wait
it was an epic cutlass from the event and it took like 15 minutes.
no wait... it was two of them!
i can't wait till the next event that will introduce WOP no ML pure good metalline vorpals that have superior arcane lore on them (100% spell crit chance for 3x damage)
i seriously hope we're getting some harder content soon to put all these easily obtainable items to use

Congrats you've won DDO with a pair of +6 vorpals. They'll be all the rage in the Inspired Quarter . . .
Now that everyone will have a pair of ubber-vorpals for use on lawful creatures (Minimum level 20 of course), expect to see the next high-level mission pack full of death-warded demons.
All jokes aside . . . and I know you have dual lighting II Khopeshes . . . what difficult content with they make easier?

it's not about the faux chaosblades themselves, its about turbine making all these epic items so easily available... so many of them, and they're pretty **** decent.
the scimitars certainly make vorpaling trash on the way to VOD much more... umm.... pink? but i feel so cheap getting all these epic items so easily, and the new vorpals are a perfect example of that- they're a blatant ripoff of one of the more sought after sands epics.
some may ask: 'IF U FEEL CHEAP Y U GONNA GET TEH ITEMS DEN'
and, the obvious answer: because i'd be stupid not to.
about the harder content..... logic dictates that if turbine controls both the flow of content and gear available to tackle it, if they're pumping easy, pretty decent items into the game, there MUST be something coming to balance it all out, otherwise every two day old level 20 is going to have very good gear to crush already.... well, easy existing content.
but i havent associated anything 'turbine' with 'logical' since that WF from korthos.

I actually think the devs have got it about right.
Lvl 20 items are quick and easy to make for alts or for casual players (especially as it's a one week event).
Tier II upgrades require much more grind for mains, and still are not as good as 'classic' epic items.

Yeah, it's not bad...
Plus the limited time hurts... I'll be able to outfit one of my guys pretty well, maybe two... but the other 5 are out of luck.

If the items were crud, they wouldn't be worth getting. They are easily obtainable yes, but they still take a fair amount of time to create, albeit not as long as regular epic items.

While I'm not arguing if this is or is not a good thing I can't agree with this line. The epic treasure hunters spy glass
eclipses the only other similar item (the epic big top) by a mile. Both of these are swap items for most people.
You certainly don't want epic big top on full time and you most probably won't want the spyglass on full time since
it competes with bloodstone/litany. The spyglass though swaps in a less painful slot if you're using it for the UMD bonus
or for the search bonus at that and moreover it has a green slot. That let's you slot +2 good luck making it the
epic big top and head of good fortune all in one easy swap with a few fun bonuses up top. I'm definitely not
comlaining since it will let me stop grinding for HoGF for my umd needs just wanted to point out that at least some of
the items are strictly better then the existing epics.
The other extremely nice on in my opinion is the first tier of the dagger. There are very few sources of lesser maximize
in the game so if you're one of the people that can handle a bunch of clickies that's one thing to definitely get.
just my 2 copper,

Heh, neg rep for this?
Forumites: This epic grind isnt a challenge. Its just boring and time consuming. They need to make it so it doesnt take as much time to farm these items.
Turbine: Heres an event that allows you to make epic quality items in far less time than it takes to farm epics.
Forumites: ZOMG!!! This isnt fair that players dont have to farm as long as we do in epics to make these items.
Turbine - Powered by its fans, and the breeze created by all the backpedaling when Turbine delivers on all their feedback.
If irony were money, people moaning about this stuff would be ballin out of control. Bentleys, bling, swimming pools and movie stars.

Wouldn't be a festival thread without Chai hopping in and insisting that those offering feedback for fine tuning this and future events are teh evilz.

Which isnt happening. Fine tuning, lol.
People are complaining about the time invested in the past -vs- now to get epic quality items, which is a legit complaint, but then I notice its many of the same people who have been complaining that epics are too time consuming and too much grind. Cant have our cake and eat it too here I'm afraid. So, which is it?
Forumites: Turbine never responds to our feedback.
Turbine: /responds to feedback by implementing an event based on it.

lol, nice. But it went a little more like this:
Forumites: Wow epic can be a drag grinding sometimes. It's got like a grind factor of 11, any chance we can tone that down to maybe an 8 or a 9?
Turbine: Why Sure! For this limited time only enjoy a grind factor of 2! Enjoy!
Forumites concerned with perserving balance: Umm a 2. Isn't that a bit too easy, we weren't asking for all that.
Other Forumites: haha you asked for it, now take this lolpic

That and the Chaosblades is a x3 multiplier instead of the x2. I tested a set of the basic lvl 20's last night, I'll probably just stick with vorpal kama's on my exploiter. I might transfer them to my kensai who has dual vorpal kopeshes, but they're not going to be high on the upgrade list as 2 x Spyglasses a couple sets of gloves and I'm not sure what else.

higher base damage than a khopesh, larger threat range. scimitars arent that far behind khopeshes dps-wise.
