I love this event!

Observations

1) I don't have to be a caster to solo it. I can run around the island fighting mobs one-on-one and stay pretty healthy unless I take an unlucky string of crits. I don't know if I'd be able to do it on anything other than a monk with Vampiric wraps, but... I will say that their saves are absolutely ridiculous. Stunning Fist is completely unreliable.

2) The Crystal Cove quest is an absolute riot. The kobolds are hilarious, and unlike the Mabar dragon I was able to solo this one at level (17). So far, I've done it at least a half-dozen times, and every time I try to get more efficient at crystal mining. My only complaint so far is that madstone rage stops you from placing torches. I understand why, but I don't appreciate it.

3) The random treasure maps outside and the Crystal Cove quest XP make it worthwhile to take a break from questing to play in the event. I can't stress enough what a difference it makes.

Suggestions:

1) The compass drop rate is way too low. I can barely gather enough doubloons to buy a compass between Cove opportunities.

2) I haven't seen a single special gem outside of the two you get in the Crystal Cove. Not one in a whole day of running the event?

3) I suspect that these mobs would be nearly impossible on any other melee build. Again, I understand why, but I don't know that I appreciate it.
