Garnering interest in an all Barbarian shroud.

Requirements:
Self healing with SF pots, scrolls or enough heal amp for cure serious pots to not take too long. Dragonmarked Halfling Barb would be ok too.

Time: +10GMT Timezone - Midnight (for the best mix of USA, Euro and Aus/NZ players)
Date: Not set, gauging interest first

Basic strategy would be to first fit our egos through the gates, then gloat about our DPS and simply obliterate everything in our path. Those that die will be ridiculed :P

Please reply with Barbarian name and healing method.

1: Felgor - SF pots
2: Axer - SF pots
3: Zexxi the Sexy Bowbarian - SF pots
4: Roldyn - Heal scrolls, normal pots, evasion

I would come on Widow, but first I need to find out the meaning of a few things in your post! What is Healing Amp? What is a heal? ;)

Someone likes their new SF Pots now, don't they! :D

Haha. Still interested to learn it...

I don't care when this Shroud is, just waiting to get some interest :)

And yes Widow, I like them very much :)

If you change it to a "no healer/caster" run, it might get more hits fel.

Can you wait, uh, 2 months?

Ferrumdermis doesn't have his Silver Flame favor and it seems stupid to me to go grind that so soon before TRing (5 more DQ 2 I think). That said, it could be nice to fill half my inventory with SF pots just before TRing to be pulled out of the bank when needed, but I don't like most of those quests enough to run all of them so close together (I think I'm at under 100 favor right now).

Can go. (Axer, SF pots @ 380+ a pop)

Tho it really should be all barb shroud elite.

Normal? Pretty sure i can solo arraetrikos on part4 with 1 other person killing the gnolls for me ;p

But yea we might crash the server witht our egos if we get all the best geared/SF pot equipped barbs in there =)

its not too bad, assuming you did some of it for exp on elite while leveling (orchard), necro 1-3 and cactocombs shouldnt take more than 2 hours. its easy to get hung up in a few of them, getting lost, or having trouble with the rats, hunting for runes, etc. But 1-2 expereinced people can zerg almost all of these in just minutes.

Yea actually looks like turbine went back and improved a lot of the annoying ones..

Doing my half orc barb and doing every SF quest along the way, none were very annoying at all. About to hit lvl14 for necro IV soon, favor at around 300, so ill have my pots at lvl15/16ish.

dont think my caster was appropriate lvl or geard last time i saw one posted (only recently got him boots since in the past I always felt comfortably with just mantle). Could take oblit next one tho now, he's pretty well set up and needs archmage ring. Tho he lacks any kind of sustainable dps now since hes more of an epic enhanct spec atm. Could probably still at least keep all the orthons stoned and beat on horoth with a quarterstaff or something tho.

I know for a fact that that I haven't stepped into any of the Necro IIIs except for the Cursed Crypt on my barbarian, and probably have just barely touched Necro II and maybe I. The Orchard I've hit a couple quests out there, but likely not on anything above normal.

I'm not sure where what little favor I have came from, but my guess (I'm not logging in right now) is Catacombs, a little Necro I, Church and the Cult and Cursed Crypt.

I find most of the non-Orchard quests to be incredibly tedious even on level 20 characters blitzing the things. If I can get on for long enough before the run and garner some interest without putting up an LFM, I'll give ti a go I guess.

And I don't know what you're talking about, Axer. What did they improve? The swim one, even knowing the way, is just 15 minutes of pure boredom and uninteresting scenery. King is repetitive and, again, boring, and now incredibly frustrating to crazy-zerg due to Dungeon Alert. Rogue is slow, though at least more interesting, if you can ignore the copious strength damage.

Tormented is still named for how you feel running the quest.
Blighted isn't bad, but still a bit irritating, particularly when it comes time to pass the waterskin around. I preferred soloing it, except that I had to double back to a fountain a few times to refill before advancing.
Unhallowed is, like so many of the other quests out here, incredibly repetitive and too long. Same hallway followed by same hallway followed by washed out colors fight followed by same hallway. It's not awful, but it's certainly not fun.

Seems I was way off in my guesses. Have 98 SF favor...Catacombs on elite, as well as well as Fleshmaker's and Bringing the Light. GoP on hard. That's it. Not even flagged for Litany.

I've done it. I've gotten some decent runs done where I was doing the feeding. Have hung around killing stuff while someone else was, too.

Neither made me want to gauge my eyes out, kick a cat and kill a dev any less than the excruciating runs I've had where the rat just dies again and again. Heh.

I'll pass on this all barb run, and will join the next whenever I'm leveled.

I'll make sure to hit SF quests while leveling as a TR. Would probably throw my computer out the window if I did all the SF quests now and then did them all again in a few weeks.

My first run was a duo with a friend also new to it. 4 Hours later, we left and reset the whole thing. then redid it in about 2 hours. I soloed it recently in 40 minutes with one rat and was pretty proud of myself lol.

I think my best time in there was 3-manning at around 25 minutes or so. Good XP, but soooo painful still. As it is, I do the quest once per character's life if I bother at all. If it's on normal, it stays normal. Probably try to get Hard at least for the favor, if I happen to be doing the quests and can't manage elite.

bring a rogue for traps, and a cleric for blade barrier and the rats can walk straight to the 'cheese' unmolested each time, the quest essentially turns into a rat zerg fest, it only takes as long as it takes the rat to walk to the door. its an awesome exp farm with the right group

Blade barrier and stormreaver cookies yes. Rogue isn't needed when you've got the timing down. Plus, I would punch my monitor out if I found out that me learning the timing was completely pointless :)

Holy cow, this thread exploded over night.

Elite would be cool, but the fact is, you are the only other Barb to put your hand up Axer. I was thinking, if a normal run fills, then we can try Elite in 3 days...but as it is, normal is having trouble.

Ferrum, I would love to join your all caster raids, but, timezones suck.

Just no healers or casters would not allow us to prove how self sufficient geared Barbarians are :P

Keep the chatter up, hopefully we get more interest.

Ok I added Dragonmarked Halfling Barb for self healing.

If I can get a couple more geared/sf potted barbs we can just do it with 4 or 6 of us.

I know the favour sucks, and I had to solo the last 100 favour, but come on! Unlock yourselves from the healers blue bar!

So is Nick coming to Khyber any time soon? I think Felgor, Axer, Nick and Smitherz could 4 man easily. Oh and Zexxi :P

When Nick and I duo'd it on Elite, He solod arraetrikos on Elite while I killed the gnolls, so that "pretty sure" needs to change or your going to be shadowed upon his arrival hehe.

Arraetrikos is one of those bosses that don't really change a lot in terms of what dps is required on elite. He does the same melee damage, same spell damage, and gnolls do the same amount of healing. So how much dps is needed to take him down doesn't really change, just how long it takes to do it will.

The differences are mainly his massively increased DR, hitpoints, spell DC, and higher chance to doublestrike on melee swings.

So the difficulty becomes more about your ability to outlast him, more so then just have the right defensies and healing to live thru his most devastating attacks.

So if I can do it on normal, doing it on elite shouldn't be much different. Just take a few more SF pots and endurance to not make a mistake in however long it takes =)

But yea I've never bothered to try since you guys already did it, didn't want to be a copy cat, I had to think of other crazy goals like solo sins elite.

Since they came out with things like halforcs and devils ruin crystals since u guys did it, I imagine it will be a ton easier as they offer big jumps in dps.

Too be honest when we two man'd it on elite it was a lot of fun until part 4 which was insanely tedious with no relaxing which made it horrible lol. The entire quest was fast except for that part.

Takes a lot longer to kill him lol. Ive never tried to solo sins elite on a brute melee without ac. Using a caster with 48 dc's the quest is a complete joke and I think I finished it in about 3 minutes flat but doing it on a melee that hasn't got an ac is pretty impressive Id say. I'll test it when I get to 20 and I'm sure ill find it to be a wild ride.

I really want to find another player that can hang to run a tod duo with me. Nick would but hes always tr'ing that its hard to catch him on the right build. I will of course be playing my caster as I'm not much of a melee oriented player.

To be fair, any quest where you can instakill, will be a joke with 48DC...doing Elite with a melee fvs is almost as much of a joke with Holy Aura and UMD for displace scrolls.

Duo ToD...that would be hardcore. Best I have done is duo VoD (not worth mentioning really, 70ac fvs and 80+ac ranger) and Elite Sins on the barb.

It's all about fun though and what you enjoy.

It was a slight exaggeration (to say that soloing on a well built caster is a joke) although I'm pretty sure I could get about as fast a time as is possible.
