Change to shadows in Temple of Vol?

Have they always killed you if they knock your str down to zero or is this new?

I noticed that recently too, but I can't remember if they always did that. We can't exactly kill anything with stat degens anymore, so I'm not sure why these can.

Normal shadows apply the "touch of shadow" debuff that will kill you if you drop to 0 str (usually not a danger unless enemy casters are throwing Ray of Enfeeblement around). Not sure if there's anything special about the shadows in DToV that would stop them from doing the same.

I noticed as well that it was part of their touch of shadow debuff. I just don't recall ever having been killed by them before.

It's been that way since at least Necro II, although I think deathward keeps that from happening to you.

get your deathward clicky from tangleroot end reward. 2 should be enough (they last 7 minutes each)
