A guildy recently asked me about endgame bard gear and it was a painful reminder that my dual shard cleansed GS gloves will soon be sitting in the bank.

With Red Fens, Epic Chronoscope, and even the upcoming birthday event the good slots seem to be changing.

I like my GS cloak, but I hate my gloves. Which ones do you prefer/regret?

My virt (1st toon) went Con op goggles and Hit Point Gloves. I reget the gloves because at the time I just swapped in GH healing gloves when I need to heal and sit back. With Epics I don't like being down 45 hps for better crit chance. When I created them there were no epics so it didn't matter as much.

I am glad I didn't do boots or cloak like I was leaning towards but still it's not ideal.

My newer HO bard made GS HP bracers 1st. This leaves my gloves up for chrono gloves, perform 15 gloves, GH heal goves (if I ever get them), etc. My conc op will be goggles again. I know I lose out on tharnes but I just didn't want to put them in another spot.

Cloaks are getting better with Athem cloak (hopfully fixed), Mabar Cloak, Epic Chrono.

Just seems like Bracers and Goggles were the best spots for me.

How do you feel about the loss of the flanking bonus from Tharnes? or do you use epic fighting leathers or wretched twilight instead?

I did a earthgrab cloak for hps originally, but swapped to Epic Cloak of the Silver Concord, so I guess that's a regret.

I now use boots for Conc Opp (+5 char skills and spellpoints), bracers for triple air and hit points. I may change out the bracers for Triple Earth hitpoint bracers for the EG guard and conc skills. Balance is useless beyond 20, so that would be a slight improvement.

This on a 14/4/2 Halfling WC, so I'm very much reluctant to give up Tharne's.

Gloves are Wretched Twilight / Perform / DP clickies, with Epic Charged Gauntlets once I get the scroll.

Basically, using the boot and bracer slot, no regrets at this point.

I guess i'll be recommending to my guildy that cloak and boots are the way to go. Epic claw bracers are just too good to pass up.

I use boots as a swap spot on all my toons. I may build them as SP/CHA skills swap-ins for my bards, but never HP or ConOp.

I have one char w/ HP on the cloak; another I had started making ConOp HP on the bracers - and stopped at Tier 2 because it was right when the Red Fens came out. I've got a blank cloak and I think I may build the cloak as a ConOp HP cloak and just ditch the bracers.

*** IF *** Gem of Many Facets gets updated to work with either one of the set, I may keep the bracers and use the Gem + Gloves of the Claw.

Truth is, I find a hard time fitting in greensteel when I'm planning things out these days. Such a grind for something that may ultimately just be temporary.

I knew what I was giving up. I still have a tharnes on my virt that I switch to when I know all I am doing is DPS. For the most part I veiw the SA as something nice to have but I don't miss it that much.

Personally, I'd never use the claw set on a melee bard, at least not in any situation where tanking matters. The extra threat is too problematic.
