Does ANYONE know why me and every one of my friends can't log into Cannith? Just to see, I logged into all the other servers and even made a quick character on one to ask the marketplace what was going on. No one knew. Me, my uncle and friends only have characters on Cannith and its been down since 1:30am (usually when we start playing) and we never saw a warning for maintenance or anything 2/11/11. It's now about 7pm :/

I had a similiar situation, DDO went down around 12:30 AM EST on Friday 2/11 and was down the rest of the night for me. (That would've been the same time you had the problem if you are in Central Time) The forums were also down the rest of the night. The rest of my internet access was fine, AIM, WWW etc.

Was in a group at the end of A New Invasion and someone had just jumped down to start soloing the boss when it happened. Well I just assumed the servers crashed and everybody was affected, since like I said, the forums and client wouldn't connect yet the rest of my internet access was fine.

The next day I talked to the FvS who jumped in to take care of the boss I asked him *** happened, how long were the servers down? He said he and the rest of the party had no problems. Apparently they finished the battle and waited 15 minutes for me to reconnect before looting. So apparently Turbine must have a non-redundant set of regionally-based server connections.

Regionally based and Cannith specific? Dubious hypothesis at best.

This is one more argument though that DDO needs to go to a universal server. It's easily done with server clustering, I have no idea why they haven't. Other than they wouldn't get any revenue from server transfers, hah, must be it.

Chances are the server quota was full and you got denied or bumped, though you'd think they would have the decency to tell you that is what is happening.

I dread the oncoming new "event", nothing good will come of it I tell you...
