Within the last month, I have been having more and more difficulties logging in. Ever since the last update it takes in upwards of 12 attempts, having to go into the task manager of windows XP to shut down the program and restart the log process.
I have no launcher.log file that I can find, and no error reports other than the one from windows about the manual shutdown of the program itself. This problem was intermittent, and I assumed that it was a glitch with the new update and would have been noticed and fixed. Now that several friends that play this game as well (names not mentioned) have begun to have severe problems as well, I feel that it needs to be addressed. I.E. Just not my computer now.
I Love the game and my compatriots and I are a mix of VIP/Premium and Free to Play accounts. Please help. Thanks

Hi flame_sword,
If turbinelauncher completes the log on process then it would normally be down to any security software you have preventing ddoclient.exe from running.
Which firewall product do you use and have you checked the activity logs?
Instructions on posting your dxdiag and launcher logs:

The other factor it could be is display drivers, which is why the dxdiag is needed.

The problem isn't there. It's also an intermittent issue. for example, I logged in today with no problems at all on the first shot. wondering if it could be throughput issues on server end ? But as I said several friends play the game as well. We all use different firewall prgrams, and different video etc. we are all having issues.. it's jsut not my computer nor just my problem.

Having to restart the launcher is a local client issue and if it is during the turbinelauncher section the log file may help to more accurately direct troubleshooting efforts.

The only known issue that is server-side is to do with the authentication server queue and crops up occasionally affecting many users on one server is the message:
Server is full (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=200010)

This section of the forums is player-to-player support and Turbine's submit a ticket is based on individual problems too:

There is no collective answer to your issue and if any server was experiencing widespread issues the forums would reflect that.
If you are 100% certain of the following applying to all your computers:
Different hardware routers
Mixture of firewall programs and you have all recently removed and re-added the exceptions (http://na6.salesforce.com/_ui/selfservice/pkb/PublicKnowledgeSolution/d?orgId=00D80000000L4s5&id=50180000000Oezv&retURL=%2Fsol%2Fpublic%2Fsolutionbrowser.jsp%3Fsea rch%3Dfirewall%26cid%3D02n800000001SCf%26orgId%3D0 0D80000000L4s5%26t%3D4&ps=1)
All have reinstalled the game using the latest download (http://www.ddo.com/ddosupport/download-ddo)
.net 1.1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=262d25e3-f589-4842-8157-034d1e7cf3a3&;displaylang=en) and .net 1.1 sp1 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=a8f5654f-088e-40b2-bbdb-a83353618b38&;DisplayLang=en) have been reinstalled.
All are using the latest respective display driver
All have up to date anti-virus (presumably also different programs) and have checked for malware but excluded ddo directory/turned off heuristics.
Do not have an application common to all such as peerblock
Then I would suggest you raise a ticket, but again you'd be best to concentrate on your PC and the information that you can provide to Turbine.
