If you're a rogue, there's really only one good option for your first greensteel. Radiance.

A Radiance II weapon blinds monsters on crits, allowing you to deal sneak attack damage. It is, hands down, the best weapon a rogue can have.

The most common method to get it is to craft Fire Damage, Positive Damage, then Dual Shard Fire+Pos. Some rogues go for the AC bonus on the last tier, some go for Fire Absorbtion, others go for straight damage.

((Btw, punctuation and paragraphs go a long way for readability.))

My Rad2s are usually Holy, +4 AC, 15% fire absorbtion.
I ignore the fire damage. By the time you get them, most mobs are resistant to fire, so that's pointless. You don't want to use Rad in epics for the most part because your Rad will likely have a x2 multiplier, and because of the blindness bug allowing movement when mobs should be held immobile.

edit: an HP item is also a completely viable choice for a 1st GS. HP and Rad should be the first two, in almost every case.

This. My first one was a holy/fiery burst/blast, and except for Bloodstone farming and running the occasional low level stuff the fiery burst/blast is almost useless. Thinking a good burst would have been a lot better since it's a rapier.

In my opinion EXC Stats, especially CON, on a weapon are bad unless it's cradfted specifically to boost that stat (+9 INT weapons for Wizards). Say you're low on HP, and decide to switch out your weapon for some reason, perhaps to scroll heal...

For one I'm not into making MinII's on Rogues (or any other class). A +5 Met Rapier of PG is (1d8-1d6=1, 1d4=2.5, 2d6-1d6=3.5) *7* points of damage below a Holy/Acid Burst/Acid Blast Rapier against mobs with resistance to Acid (e.g. Devil Raid bosses). A +5 Holy Silver Rapier is 3.5 points below, a great BB (+5 Holy Silver of PG) is equal, and the perfect +5 Holy Silver of GEOB is better than a MinII (but good luck finding one).

In epics, you'll get a good deal more mileage out of a LitII. My rogue dual weilds a LitII and a RadII (and a TierII Lit on offhand for when mobs are squirrely with the blindage).

IMO killing a raid boss a tiny bit faster isn't worth the huge amount of crafting it takes. RadII is godly for Rogues, and LitII is higher DPS on non/bypassed DR foes (like in epics).

I've heard that the brilliance (blinding proc) is great for rogues, because it creates sneak attack opportunites (?)

I appreciate the input. As for the comment at the end: The entire post was one thought/subject (with the exception of the final 2 sentences about my other post... my bad), and therefore one paragraph is sufficient. As for punctuation, the paragraph was rife with it. Thanks again for the information. I really appreciate it.

Another GS planner to look at playing around with is here (http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~delallea/ddo/shroud/index.php).

For an STR-based you could make an HP item like this:
http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~delallea/ddo/shroud/cgi-bin/shroud.cgi?item=bracers&weapon=weapon&effects=iee_2_str,ee_1_str,gee_3_str&altar=3
and pick either the slayliving guard or crushing waves guard. Corrosive Salt guard will cost you twice the larges.

For a DEX-based HP item you could do something like this:
http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~delallea/ddo/shroud/cgi-bin/shroud.cgi?item=bracers&weapon=weapon&effects=ee_1_dex,gee_3_dex,iee_2_dex&altar=3
and choose Air guard or Incineration(somebody already mentioned fire resistance). For twice the larges you could take Smokescreen and get constant 20% concealment.

Most people recommend an HP item and a RadII as the first to build.

I think, perhaps, that you are misunderstanding the bonuses.

+1, +2, +3 str skills add 6 points of exceptional bonus to Jump and Swim
+1, +2, +3 dex skills add 6 points of exceptional bonus to Open Locks, Hide, Sneak, Move Silently, Balance and Tumble.

I would generally recommend dex for a HP item, unless you're specifically looking to add a few points of concentration (+1,+2, +3 con skills) for scrolling while being hit, in which case Earthgrab guard (http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~delallea/ddo/shroud/cgi-bin/shroud.cgi?item=cloak&weapon=weapon&effects=ee_1_con,iee_2_con,gee_3_con,earthgrab_gua rd_&altar=3) or Heavy Fort (http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~delallea/ddo/shroud/cgi-bin/shroud.cgi?item=cloak&weapon=weapon&effects=ee_1_con,iee_2_con,gee_3_con,mineral2_it_&altar=3) are both pretty decent options. Although unless you have toughness on an epic item, I'd go with earthgrab guard and keep Minos as your Fort item.

You're right, I was misunderstanding the exceptional bonuses . Thanks for that heads-up.
