How is this Possible

Guildie of mine said he had some friends at lvl 22 and 23. I told him he was being pranked until he gave me their names. How is this possible?

This is on the friends list, I think it? TR's look a little funny there, but it's a display bug only.

If they true reincarnated, his friendslist will indeed show lvl 22 or 23.

if you mean they are level 22 or 23 on the friends lists, that is a bug in the friends list.

I think if you TR and change class or possibly otherwise reincarnate, it sometimes shows your other previous classes. I think someone on my list said they were level 60 :) they are not.

Does that match what you see? if you actually look at the friends they are NOT level 22-23. the cap is 20. i know someone who has no sorc level (not sure he did ever...maybe a long time ago) but it still shows up on the friends list too. another friend TRed and is 17 but shows up as 18 with 1 level of fighter she doesn't have in this TR life.

Several things cause this:

LR+x, GR+x and TR

All classes you where previously seem to show regardless on the friends list, so if you had 1 monk in you, you LR+1 you will now increase in level to your friends by +1 retaining the monk on the friend list, with TR sometimes you see the whole previous life and a total I have several lv95 friends :P

Yes, this. The friends list has always been wonky. Before the introduction of any reincarnation I've had folks on it who were pure fighter and listed 20ftr/1sor/1rog/1pal. Etc.

My original capped character "Likely", who's never TR'd and has always been pure Sorc shows one level of Ranger and a level 21 on the friends list...it's been like that for years.

Another way this happens sometimes is if you had a character with a certain name, deleted it, and created another character with the same name (and of a different class).

This issue is older than the LR/GR/TR system. That system just exacerbated it.
